I installed my ToyTec Ultimate lift at max settings and LR upper control arms last summer (along with 16x8 ProComp wheels and 285/75 DuraTracs). Immediately afterward, i had it aligned and all was well, after a bit of underfender trimming.

Fast forward to a year later, I had my oil changed at the dealer I bought my truck at and they found that my alignment was out. No big deal, I bought the lifetime alignment so I can just bring it back, right? NO!

First of all, I DIDN'T buy the lifetime as it turns out. Second, ever since I went ahead and had them re-align, it's been off. First, it rubs in places it has NEVER rubbed and when you look at it from the front, the camber is way off.

They guy told me that they couldn't get the camber just right because of my lift and that I would need a special part. I tried to explain that my UCAs address that and have such an adjustment incorporated. However, I didn't have time to argue :)frusty:).

I brought it to a guy to do some other work (install powerpoints for my WO heated seat covers and covers themselves, address a suspension squeek, and check out a fender dent). He said it was clear that the alignment was way out. So, now that I'm having issues, I've decided to do a little research. Can anyone tell me what alignment numbers I SHOULD be able to attain with my setup? I know that it is a fairly common setup here.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the quick feedback. So, are we all in agreement that I SHOULD be able to attain those same/similar numbers with my setup (just different Aftermarket UCAs)?

I think so, yes. You might want to consider a different shop too, I went with a preferred shop that local TW's suggested. Bad reviews from others in the same town.

Yes. The LR UCAs are very adjustable. You should be able to get those numbers. The rubbing issue you might not get around though.

If it's camber that is the issue , they can easily adjust that the the castle nut / slide at the top of the LR UCA

Oh yeah, what's this mystery 'special part' that the mechanic said you needed? As far as I'm aware, the 'special part' is the LR UCA. Sounds like he was getting ready to take you and your wallet for a ride on the BS bus...

BGrutter, what did you end up finding was causing your shudder/shake that you experienced after installing the 3" Toytec lift?

I see in this thread you mentioned having a wheel alignment done. Did that fix the shudder/shake or did you find something else like a wheel out of balance?

I am experiencing a shudder/shake with my truck after the 3" Toytec lift and trying to narrow down where the problem is. I did have an alignment done after the lift and the numbers look fairly good. I rotated my front tires to the back, still get the shutter, so figure it isn't a tire out of balance. My next step is to remove the driveshaft, put the truck in 4WD and take it for a spin and see if I still get the shutter. That will allow me to eliminate the rear driveshaft one way or another.

All wheels need to be dynamically balanced at the tire shop. if the tech doesn't know what that is then go to a different shop . Sometimes lower caster helps with a shimmy or shake.
