I got my alignment done today. I asked for 3.5 castor, 0 camber, and a tow number that'll give good tire wear. They were pretty much able to do that with my set up. It was awesome going somewhere that already knew how to adjust SPC's. The truck drives so much better now. So tight feeling.

    UPDATE:
I went and got a new alignment. So far, it drives better and doesn't pull to passenger anymore. However to remediate the rub, I am planning to adjust my lift to make my truck sit a bit higher then I will get another alignment. After the new alignment, I will start trimming.

    Below are the results:

Hey, I used to live in Burbank! Is it the shop in downtown burbank area near the AMC? I would like a shop to do my alignment as well.

Interested in this as well. I work in Glendale and know of a few off road shops in the area. But never worked with any of them.

Disclaimer: I am still going through all the posts and different threads, but this may be more then my non-technical brain can handle. I am posting and alignment printout performed after a suspension upgrade to see if anyone sees anything egregiously out of whack with the numbers. My truck: 2017 TRD OR AC V6 Auto. OME Suspension added at approximately 3,700 miles: 887 coils, Nitrochargers all around, medium duty Dakar leaf packs. UCA's were NOT recommended or installed. Truck handles great, I did not notice a difference in the way the truck tracked or handled from before the suspension kit and I have not noticed any uneven tire wear. Thank you in advance.

if you think it handles great then you're good. there is no problem with your alignment in terms of tire or component wear or any of that. different strokes for different folks... read the exchange above between boostedka and me for info on caster if you're curious.

After reading all the post, I am not getting it. I was trying to get some good knowledge. The info offered is good, but vast with many variables, so here are mine. Icon uni ball U.C.A., Icon ext. travel coil overs,285/70r17 tires stock rims with 1.5 spacers. The front has 700lb springs and the coils have 1 3/8 thread showing. This has given me 3" of lift in the front. In the rear I am running 2" add lief plus one inch block and Icon shock. the result is 3.5" of lift in the rear. what numbers should I shoot for.

What has always driven me nuts is the shops who get all the numbers green, give you the vehicle back, and it's not going straight. You tell them that, and then the reply is: "Well the numbers are all good on the computer" Yeah great they're green on the computer and the car is not driving straight. Drives me f----ing insane. To me, I want to be able to put the wheel dead straight, take my hands off and it goes straight for a good distance, and then drifts slightly right to the shoulder for safety sake.

Could use some help! I'm tracking to the right a little more than I'd like. Is it being caused by the difference in toe or something else?

did you only notice it on one road or multiple different ones?

Could use some more cross caster for the crown in the road.

I've been driving it roughly a week and it's across multiple roads. I could probably live with it, but it wasn't doing it pre-lift/alignment. If it's as simple as adjusting the toe, I can do that myself. I've researched and it's unclear to me if that difference in toe is enough to cause it to pull right? Thanks for the help!

Should t be the toe. It’s the caster that would cause that. You need .3-.5 more caster on the passenger side to make up for the crown in the road. You probably just need more cross caster.

    Great thread!

Without actually putting the truck on the rack, how would I know if I need an alignment? The truck drives perfectly straight, haven’t noticed any tire wear, no real rubbing. But I didn’t align after my lift about 10k miles ago.

Truck is lifted about 2 inches,
    16x8 -20, 265/75/16.
    (Stock was sport wheels/tires
    17x7.5 +30? 265/65/17)

And if I should get an alignment, am I looking for these specs?
    Caster 2.5
    Toe and camber 0

    Thanks!!

Definitely should get an alignment any time you mess with the suspension. I would recommend getting one ASAP to eliminate premature tire wear long term.

Depends on your needs/ wants, but any Caster above 2.0 is decent for clearance purposes. Toe I'd say under .06 is reasonable and camber/ caster will play off of each other so it will be dictated by whatever the caster is.

Hope you guys can help me with this. I recently got my Tacoma lifted about 2 inchs front and back (Toytec 2.5 kit with 3 leaf aal and SPC UCA, Have had 265/70/17 C ko2s on it for about 35k miles now, had them on when the truck was stock. ). After my lift, my shop guy did get the alignment done and I do remember the truck tracking fine and the steering wheel not feeling as loose. After about 1k miles on my new suspension I thought it was a good idea to get another alignment done for good measure (from different shop, Firestone, now learned that was a bad idea). However, after this second alignment my truck feels out of wack. When driving it tracks to the left, the steering wheel feels much looser (lots of play and small random movements when driving), and at low speeds when going over some bumps or dips the steering wheel turns hard to whichever direction the bump or dip swings it to. On top of that my Steering wheel is off center to the right by about a degree or two. I have an appointment with my shop guys alignment guy this week to hopefully correct the problem. I've attached the alignment spec sheet that was given to me from my second alignment (the cause of the wacky ride problems). Hopefully someone with some good insight can look at this sheet and give me some numbers to run by the alignment tech this week. Your time is greatly appreciated.

Cross caster is high. 1.7 on driver side and 2.5 on passenger. It is normal for passenger side to be higher, but only .3-.5 normally. Maybe start there. Raise the caster on the driver side to meet passenger side. See if he can get at least 2.0-2.2 and start there

Edit: Looks like a toe and go after looking at the sheet again. Lazy tech

Sorry to ressurect this thread but it seems like there's some good advice flowing through here. I'm going for my alignment today, 3 inch lift, SPC LR upper control arms, 285/75/16'6 on 16x8 wheels with 4.5bs. On the UCA instructions it says to maximize tire clearance, max the caster at the LCA cams then adjust the UCAs (maybe have to back the caster down to the +1 setting?) Anyway, what kind of alignment numbers should I be going for? everyone says 0/0/2.5-3.0 but after reading through here it doesnt seem that simple anymore especially with the LR UCAs and the apparent difference between CASTER and CLEARANCE. Just need to figure out exactly to tell the alignment tech...

Was hoping to resurrect this thread. I am having darting/wandering issues and is difficult to maintain straight. Dobinsons maybe half inch lift in front 1.5" in the back with aal. 255/70/18. Getting an alignment done tomorrow with higher caster. Grateful for any suggestions
