    I'm switching my stock Dunlop 245/75 16's to 265/75 16's... is an alignment recommended?

    not with just changing a tire. A tire will not adjust anything.

    ya i've thought that the tires wont change anything, only when you mess with the suspension. but the shop said i will need alignment

    You will need an alignment only if your Dunlops are showing wear that is other than normal - i.e. not from air pressure too high or low.

    Not required since nothing is really changing but not a bad idea when getting new tires in my opinion. I always like to at least start out knowing the alignment is correct after spending a ton of money on new rubber. Just my $0.02.
