    Stock for now...
    Amen !
I went through a lot of this myself when I was building Weber carbs for the Offroad.Com board and the whole Suzuki crowd - stuff like this takes a lot of dedication and character , will support people like neneago with anything they do ...

No need for a freebie test unit - I will gladly pay for even a prototype just to figure this out and provide plenty of feedback for the forum .

I was for sure your username was for Grill Sergeant, and you are a Weber fan.

Below is the unit I would love but manufacturer wants $50k to develop for the Tacoma. One of the biggest complaints of flip keys is the pivot point of the flip key. The design below re-enforces that area. This design is also the thinnest I've ever seen. The design I get next week is a copy of this but the inside is redesigned for the circuit board of my remotes.

Not at all. Look at the key. It's flat. Most flip keys the key is sideways.. Makes it beefier.

I mean the key material near the pivot.

The keys mounted the other way have much less material at the pivot, don't they? I've never taken one apart, but when the shaft snaps it looks like the amount of metal surrounding the pivot pin is not nearly as much as the flip you've posted.

Oh! Yes. Visually looks stronger... I'm getting this sample in today. Does not work on the Tacoma. Just getting it to test strength.

That is a much better design - why anyone would want a 90* transition at the pivot point is beyond me , just makes no sense .
Too bad about the manufacturer being to narrow-minded to try smaller markets - that always leads to bigger sales in the long run instead of trying to land the biggest share sections only . I've dealt with that , there are ways around it such as trying to get in the door of some current large-scale buyer . Had to spend 6 months hounding a Weber supplier here in the US only to finally get my foot in the back door of the Italian plant source directly . In the end I was buying parts below cost of the wholesale places in the US - which really ruffled their feathers bad as I was soaking up all the excess stock they couldn't get .

I really do admire your dedication , can't say that enough . If you need help looking for avenues of potential suppliers I'd be glad to help .

Got mine also. I can't for the life of me do the manual programming for some reason.

    2005 TRD OFF ROAD SR5 PRERUNNER 4x4

    Dot Key

    Doors closed
Key in and out 4 times
5th time, leave it in the ignition in the off position
Open and Close the door 6 times
    Remove key from ignition
(Security Light Should stay on solid)
    (insert key you want programmed)
(light will go off after ~60 seconds)
(your truck is ready to start)

my truck has had issues for some many years with loosing the remote programming.

That's for the immobilizer chip. You should be able to program the remote portion.
