Definitely sucked, but eh... just my luck I guess :rain:. Hopefully, there won't be others that'll experience what I did. I definitely wouldn't want to rely on another one. I'll stick to my OEM keys/fobs .

If you have a flashing red light on your dash when no key is in the ignition then you have a chipped key.

I think the v6 have immobilizer and 4 cylinder does not. Pretty sure it is that simple but this is just what I have read, not first hand knowledge
    Curse you Toyota :)
I guess the 4 cylinder isn't quick enough to run from the law, so why immobilize it?

What key are you talking about? Flip? Never has anyone ever reported a problem with them.

Have you dropped the key? if you shake key, do you hear a rattling sound?

Sorry to everyone who has email asking about the flip keys. The answer is they will eventually come back into stock. Don't have time to build them and all equipment i'm loading onto moving truck now.

Made some time to check on thread as someone mentioned about the chip...message was from a random person...not the person having issues with it.

    Have a safe trip!
And thanks again for the replacement back cover for my first key, and that flip key is the best of the 2!

Ok - I need some help. I purchased the correct remote head - key for my 2011 Tacoma. Brought it to my local locksmith & he cut & programmed the chip. The key fits & starts the vehicle fine.
He then explained to me that because my remote is separate from my key, the lock/unlock buttons on the remote headed key can't be programmed and won't work. Any suggestions?

I've not bought one of these keys but that does not sound correct. There should be no issue programming your lock unlock feature. Locksmith likely just doesn't know how.

I see the FCC numbers and they have a Q in the number but mine has two G before number.

Regular multi-button key/remote, not flip key. No and no. Again, as I said, could just be my luck.

On first glance mine looks like two G's also, but look very closely to your fob with a magnifying glass, you will see the Q. My flip key works great on my 2015.

Finally shop is moved to Texas. You will see flip keys within the next 2-3 weeks while I finish setting up.

Are you accepting orders for in-stock items now? Will they ship quickly if ordered, or do you need shop set up first?
    Thanks.
