I will update this first post with a link and the video embedded for each review posted in here. I will take a few posts here at the beginning and then edit them in. I can't find many of the websites where the stories are hosted.

The Holy Grail, the Spec document in true PDF:

this looks to have 900 dollars added to each model, probably a destination fee

We can get all of the negativity out of the way first:

    It's a minivan/car engine.
The MPGs are a disappointment and not worth it.
The lack of torque increase sucks.
    The grill is still ugly.
The Crawl feature is a gimmick.
    Drum brakes on the rear.
    No diesel.
    The cab is the same.
    It's not a new design.
    Air dam?!?!?
    It's only a 6AT.
The tailgate damper is too slow.

    Carry on!

    I am as well.
    I'm back to considering a full-sized again.
I'm dissapointed that Toyota isn't putting MPGs and hauling/towing performance as a top priority. However it is a midsized off road truck. I haul and tow and have been used to driving only F-250s my whole driving life.
    I feel loke if I wanted off-road I'd go Jeep. I want a TRUCK.

Ill probably throw my tantrum and get over it. Or I'll go down to Ford and get a better deal on a full-sized than I would a Tacoma with shitty milage.

I'm surprised with weight savings, new engine, new transmission, aerodynamics, bed covers, and all the other stuff they put on this truck they only managed 2 more mpg's.. that's pretty disappointing for a 2016 model.

I've been waiting for over ten years to buy the "New" Tacoma. I am buying a Colorado this week. I'm not looking for off road performance. I just need a truck. For right at $24K I am in a Colorado WT with a convenience package, 4cyl with 200HP, 265 70 R16s, more room, and honestly.... kind of looks better. Sadly, I am a huge supporter of Toyota, but this just doesn't make sense.

Yea, I wouldn't even bother reading the reviews or driving the new Tacoma. Spec sheet is all that matters.

Watched the TFL review. Seems like NHV is massively improved with the new cab design (despite looking the same). That was a big complaint point for me on the gen 1 and gen 2.

Mileage is terrible considering they spoke of 'class leading' fuel economy months ago. The "all new" manual transmission kept the exact same gearing? Really seat-belt Mike?

At $34k for a TRD Sport 4x4, looks like I'll be getting an F-150 instead. I don't need a full-size, but damn, Toyota is making it really hard to justify a mid-size.

Now I have less regret for ordering that 4Runner SR5 Premium last week.

There's no listing of the overall length of the truck in the PDF. And the LIMITED is shown to be available with only the short bed, that can't be right?

Dude, its a matter of needs and personnal preference. I want to do off-road and when I looked at the Colorado/Canyon, I had the same impression you just had that they are not for me. The new Tacoma is almost what I wanted, except for a fuel consumption that is a bit worst than what I was expected. Anyway, it is almost identical to the Odyssey I am driving now, even for a 4x4 pickup, that is impressive.

It isn't the same gearing. The transmission is different. Check out the tread about transmission gearing in this forum. Good info there.
