For my needs I think I can live with most of the "upgrades" made for 2016, but can you seriously only get the leather interior on the Limited???

Anyone know if you can get an SR5 without the triple chrome rear bumper?

Why the hell would you need the limited and NOT want leather?

I think you have that backwards. He wants leather in another trim besides the limited.

That is correct. I don't want a limited at all. I want a TRD WITH leather...

you don't want the leather, its that hideous copper/hickory/ugly color. we wanted a limited but that leather color just a deal breaker for the warden. we rather do w/o the homelink in the sport than that leather.

Brief interview with Mike Sweers talking about aerodynamics of the Tacoma. Not really a review. Buried in this news brief at about 5 minutes in. http://www.autoline.tv/journal/?p=38962

Also not a review but an industry brief http://wardsauto.com/north-america/toyota-tacoma-demand-loyalty-stand-new-gm-trucks

"Rick Lofaso, corporate marketing manager, expects the SR grade to account for 10% of the ’16 model’s mix, with 30% of buyers opting for the SR5, 7% the Limited and 52% the TRD models. About 28% of ’16 TRD Tacomas sold likely will be the Sport grade.

Tacoma buyers are 85%-90% male with an average age of 35."

I just watched the auto guide review which was by far the best of the bunch.

The driver only say 16 combined on his short trip, horrible. But did say he say nearly 25 on the highway.

I think he might have gotten 16 combined because he was off roading.

That is the thing that probably makes every other company the most jealous. Toyota is definitely not going to eff this up.

I couldn't do it.... I do like the 2016 Tacoma, but what was killing me was the pricing. The '16 does have notable improvements. Needing to replace my 18 year old Hardbody, I had to make a decision.

It may have been a comment I read here. Someone made a point stating GM has never made a good 4 cyl. And I started thinking about that and it really stuck in my head. Sure, everyone knows if some great GM 6 cyl and 8 Cyl motors, but a GM 4?

And to get into a GM with a 6, you're up into $30k. Oh, and GM doesn't offer rear sliding glass on the WT trim. That was a no go. I use that to load long lumber or steel (resting on the dash) through the cab and resting on the tailgate.

Well, my waiting is over. I found and bought a 2013 TRD off-road double cab v6 loaded (including nav, JBL audio, towing pkg, tint, backup cam, etc....). It has 33k miles on it and saved my about $11k over the '16 model year equiv. $11k buys a lot of gas to make up for the slightly lesser mpg.

Talk to your dealership. Most can add leather to any package for a small fee. Mine is adding it to a TRD Sport DCLB with all the other stuff the Limited has (except a long bed).

Instead of paying for cloth seats in a new Truck only to have them ripped apart to pay more for leather, why not take the truck as is?

The installation of leather seating will be available 1,2, or 3 years after purchase. In short, what I suggest is to put a little wear on the cloth first before replacing them immediately. The cost in the end is the same and you have new seats twice.

The MGM in limited trim is sexy as hell! But damn those chrome mirrors.
