Just watched all of the marvel movies the last few weeks in prep for Shang Chi / minus hulk and Spider-Man, stupid Sony

Edit ~ up to end game but Included Black widow after civil war* no post series

lady is going to see her mom this weekend out of town and I got SChi and red notice on my list the weekend ~ not related, I know

 

Big weekend for movies.

I’ll be watching Shang Chi and Red Notice as well as Jungle Cruise…

For Spider-Man, do you have a cable log in? They are both streaming on the FX Now app…

 

I used to use my brothers cable log in but he canceled it. Not a big deal, he gave his HBO log in, Fair trade

 

Idk how I missed this. Jungle cruise did come out on D+. I thought it was one of those pay $30 or something?

So, yeah, got the same list as you. About to doordash some food and get it started

 

25 minutes in and I’m hooked

 

Disney+ releases their streamers for 30 days at initial release for $30 on the platform (or you can go to a theater) then it falls off Disney+ for 30-60 days while the movie is available on platforms like Redbox, fandango, Vudu, etc. (for a rental fee) and then it makes it’s way back to Disney+ as a permanent option included with the membership. Same thing happened with Mulan, Cruella, and Black Widow.

I let my wife pick our movie tonight. She chose Red Notice. I’ll try to push for Shang Chi tomorrow and round out the weekend with Jungle Cruise on Sunday

 

Watched Shang Chi over the weekend and absolutely loved it. The whole time I kept thinking "the Wu Tang Clan have to be loving this!"

Seriously, if there was going to be a cameo, Rza doing a Stan Lee gag would have made it an 11/10 for me.

Still, loved the character work, and Wong is still the man. Especially loved seeing "an old friend..."

 

Also, I want a full-sized Morris plushie.

HA! My lady said the same thing, except a real one

I watched it twice this weekend. Once Friday night and again when my girl got home yesterday.

 

Saw that when it originally happened. Laughed my head off. He's really funny, and a fantastic actor.

 

When Marvel stopped doing the One-Shots I speculated that it was because they were introducing new plot points that would never be resolved. It was cool to see that the real Mandarin did exist in the MCU.

 

I loved that he was multi-layered, and not just a "insert villain here" baddy to be defeated. Complex, sympathetic, and charming (in his way). I think it made it a better movie because, in his own way, he walked his own "hero's path" when (spoiler), and I think that really came across in audience reaction. I know I cried a little, and he was the BAD GUY!! Very impressed.

Outside of Thor: The Dark World, Marvel studios has not disappointed.

 

One thing I didn't see (that I want more than air) is a one-off series of Howard the Duck. Just to finish wiping the old movie from the Earth.

I want it. I WANT IT.

And it needs a hard R rating.

 

Have you seen Eternals yet? Just curious, I haven't yet.

 

When it hits Disney +. The missus still isn't ready for a movie theater yet.
