They shouldnt as it's an inertia sensor on the truck, however I've never had one tested to see.
By 'underside' do you mean the different styling of the wing plates? I made this more like the 96-04's as its a bit more of my signature design now(and a bit tougher) but I'll probably release one that has more similar wings to the 05-11's as an option as well.

Also Eric did you go wider on the wings, part close to the headlights. Looks like it jutts out more then the 05-11.

Nope, its the same or at least very very close. Its probably the fact that the one pictured is on a 5lug with no fender flares, or having the flat top on the wings rather than the slanted tops.

Yeah seems the fact its on a 5 lug is throwing people off. I've got 2 other 2012 bumpers in the shop right now though so hopefully they'll be completed/installed soon and I can get pics on a lifted rig.

Definately looking forward to seeing one of these on a little larger truck, it looks awesome but the little truck throws me off. Once again, excellent work Eric:thumbsup:

I went 5 lug due to there were only 2 2012 Tacomas on the lot when I got it. The other was fully loaded 6 cyl. D/C 4X4. I drive 66+ miles per day M-F & decided to go for cost on the 5 lug as well. I am enjoying doing my little add ons though. This weekend I am going to throw a AAL on the rear to level her out. I will also be getting the wheels & tires within the next month or so. From there it will be mainly lights & other somewhat small add ons.

Haha i hear ya. My 4x4 DC doesn't get much better gas milage than my 5.7L 2011 Tundra did..

I usually only drive it when i'm pulling a boat or trailer though.

I've always wondered why they didn't make them all 6 lug, just seems like it would have been easier... Other than the wheels, are their any other differences with a 5 lugger?

Sorry for totally derailing this thread, but on the bright side, I'm keeping it bumped :) Waiting to see the bumper on a lifted 6 lugger!

I think its more the tires then the size of the truck. If u could put some wheels like 16x7 or 16x8 with a -10/ -12 offset to give them some depth and put bigger tires on, it could have a low, terminator kinda look to it. Like the ultimate low profile, street driven, demolition truck! Lol
