Hey, long time no see. How's the business?

Sorry but I won't be selling much. I might sell my bumpers but that'll probably be the extent of it.

Thanks. Your truck has turned out great. I like it a lot.

Its going good, too much to handle by myself. I've got 1 full time employee and now a part time welder around the shop as well.

Thanks Max. Any new pictures of your truck?

I'm glad the business worked out for you. You seemed passionate about it when I was around and I'm happy you're still chugging along.

We've been great. Been married for 6 months and it went by real quick. We've been looking to buy a house together and I'll end up building a shop on the property. I'll build my dream truck after that.

I'm still going while I can. My truck is still on 35s so it does decent. We went up last weekend in fresh snow and were pushing through 4 feet of snow. Truck did really well and I'll keep going up until I start hacking away at it.

Ever have any problems with the front locker? I have allpro LT, and am outing an arb in the front. Any suggestions to help avoid carnage? I broke a front cv shaft this morning. Left foot braking to act locked.

I haven't had any issues with the front locker. I tried to have it off any time I had to make sharp turns since that's when everything would bind the most. In mud and snow I would leave it on but I tried to only use it when I needed in the rocks.

Did you break the actual shaft or one of the ends? Its not easy to break a chromoly shaft by just braking.

I think the shaft was defective. That's too clean of a break. Broke right near the inner joint. Chromoly shaft should be very strong. I would think the factory diff or joint would fail before the shaft.

I would say that it was defective. It probably wasn't cryoed or was just done improperly.

I like it. How are your flares holding up? Have you had any cracking issues? What's your plan for the truck?

Well... I didn't realize how most had done it. Mine are overlapped and bonded together with 3M duramix. I pulled apart a piece I cut off for the HC bumper. I had to slowly pry and twist and chisel at it .5" at a time. They're TOUGH. They didn't fit perfectly due to this but I feel a little better now knowing how strong they are.

I go back and forth. I'll be done with school soon (diesel tech) and I want to buy a cummins so I'm hoping to have one about this time next year. Then I won't worry about beating on the Tacoma. I keep thinking solid axle but it's a pretty capable truck as is and it'd be easier and cheaper to dump money into something else. But maybe a stronger rear end and LT kit and just wheel it like that.

My new idea is an FJ80 with a 12 valve CTD, and 1 tons on 39s. I could probably have the whole set up for what it'd cost me to swap a D4D into the Taco. We'll see!
