Fords has a point...not to say a lot of people wouldn't LIKE the bumper, but "want" and "ability to purchase if it's available" are different beasts.

We've seen that clear enough with plenty of feeler/groupbuy threads that didn't pan out as signup indicated.

Profitable fabrication is quite a bit about volume...margins are pretty slim on a per-item basis (to keep things priced competitively). I'm not sure why AP discontinued the hybrid, but apparently it wasn't selling enough at the time to be worth maintaining the manufacturing pipeline?

If they won't sell, I would love the plans to attempt to build my own

Yes that figure is pretty close, The Hybrid was approximately 85lbs vs the plate bumper we currently stock is about 100lbs.. I apologize for the late response again my time is cut really short due to day to day operations.. I will continue to do my best on keeping you informed on the lastest news, also keep in mind about the new products that are currently in progress..
    Thanks, Jesse Q.

I did some research and part of the reason of the discontinued hybrid is that the demand dropped on that specific bumper, we were producing units in the double digits on a monthly basis all the way down to selling 2-4 units a month.. Josh you do have a point and thats one of my biggest challenges.. Back years ago we were able to produce on a per order basis back when the competition was slim.. Its a very competitive market now so material has to be ordered in bulk in order to make a profit, having to start off with a 100 units of the component your selling just to see a margin.. The truth is that im more concerned on what my customer needs are thats why Im gonna do my best to balance everything out in order to take the reproduction of the hybrid to the next step if possible.. Like I said before, I like the Hybrid because its a quality bumper and it looks good!! Thanks everyone, Jesse Q.

    do a group buy.

get a number of committed buyers

Figure out the cost of making that many units.

Release a price per bumper to make a profit on that many units.

    Re-gauge interest.

    Adjust pricing.

    Find equilibrium.

    Isnt free market capitalism beautiful?

but compare this same theory to the Plate Bumper...Like Jesse said, there's a hell of a lot of competition right now in the "Armor" Industry. Bringing the Hybrid back would potentially increase their sales because it would broaden there product base thus appealing to more customers. Options are always good...its like opening up a Chinese restaurant and only offering egg rolls :duel:

Build it before someone else, I'm sure when interest peaks like this, someone will figure out how to make money on it
