As it happens My rear bumper just got nailed in a Hit and run. I am in the Market for a replacement right now...
    My requirements are:
    1. tow hitch with stock wire harness capability. My truck has the full towing package with the 7 pin connector.
    2. wheel swing that will hold a 285 tire and wheel assy.
    3. real use of the tailgate rear view camera.
    4. powder coated black
    5. High lift jack compatible.
How soon can I order mine?

If would be great to have a stainless steel fold down camp table option. However this does pose some questions about running a camp stove within inches of auxiliary fuel containers. Obviously need to be smart about that.

This is a relevant feature for me. As long as were dreaming about building a bumper to our personal desires, I would use a a table like this. No it's not a new idea, but AP was asking for input. Well, guess what...I want one. Also on my dream parts list would be a high capacity gas tank. Then I would only carry water in the aux location on the swing-away.

I don't need you to like my opinions, they're mine not yours. :)

I ended up having to get a Factory bumper. The main reason I did I have to tow. The Stock bumper mounts with the factory receiver and it's rated to 6500lbs. I need the stock tow rating that the Tacoma has. When I went looking at the aftermarket bumpers I couldn't find any tow rated. You can install a receiver in a bumper but if it's not safe to tow the trucks capacity then it's no good for me.

So from my perspective and why I went with a stock bumper I would suggest you insure the new bumper you are designing is Tow rated. Just trying to give you my perspective.

I also wanted to say I think it's probably not feasible to have the wheel mounted on the back and still use of the rear camera. Just doesn't seem like it would work.

I also would be interested if it maintained the 6500lb tow rating. Cutouts for mounting back-up lights would be nice too.

Are the swing-away tire carriers removable?

I think BU camera is unlikely, as much as I love mine I can't foresee that working out
Tow rating would set yours apart big time as well as 7 way bracket
Removable swingout assy for the times we need to haul stuff with tailgate down
    Aluminum option
Different bracket kits/ options compatible with all your bumpers. Gas cans, light mounts, tailights guards, jack, shovel, ax mounts etc.

Making some progress on our new APex rear Tacoma bumper.

A little different look for the bumper, a little extra beef in the corners for the dual swing outs and Back up camera ready!

We again won't have pricing ready until we have the prototype finished and priced out for production but we are making progress!

Oh Dang! Getting hit is no fun but it does give a great excuse to get something even better :D

    1. We maintain the use of the factory harness.
    2. No problem
    3. Because of the tire the factory location will not work but we are working on a relocation kit to be included.
    4. Absolutely
    5. We are shooting for these to be in production before the end of the year.

Removable Swing out is a great idea but might not be realistic. We will look into this further though.

Aluminum is also a great idea but because of the amount of weight that will be added to the swing outs keeping the base bumper steel for needed strength is the best option.

We will also have numerous options for mounting all the popular accessories.

Coming soon after this one :D

This will be an additional option as some people don't require one.

These bumpers are as HC as we can make them without having to cut into the body. We do want to play around with that version as well though in the distant future.

This is the perfect weekend setup! Thanks for all your support!

Brought several great products from you guys already, so the pleasure is mine to improve on an already great product. Like most had mention, "I'm not giving up my factory reverse camera." Look into the FJ reverse camera setup because it's clean.
