I like this idea of modular rack. Going to skim through the show me your bed rack thread later tonight. Need something that unbolts for storage and sits a little lower. But that price is crazy, after I convert to Canadian dollars it's way out of reach. If any one knows of a rack that would fit my needs please let me know.

I found what you guys are talking about and it was with the KB Voodoo Heavy Duty Cross bars. It is an old post and the vendor explained that it has since been redesigned to prevent exactly that.
I am very happy with my kbvoodoo bed rack. www.kbvoodoo.com He makes a mid height rack. Not sure what shipping to Canada would be but shipping to Alaska was only $100

I'm not disagreeing with your logic. I understand the principles of weight distribution. I'm just saying that I've had my rack with my RTT, gear, and people and have abused it all summer on rough roads in Alaska and have not experienced the issues that you're talking about. Yes, the weight isn't as distributed as your design but it doesn't need to be. I just feel like your design is a little bit overkill and you lose the utility of the bed rail system. That being said, I do think the All-Pro rack is beautiful.
