Bumper mounts are 1/8 inch or so to narrow to slide on outside of frame rails. Should I use ratchet straps to bring frame in a hair ? Any other suggestions ?

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

All-Pro DID have an issue with that exact area of their bumpers. My buddy @TacoJohn4x4 had an issue with the bumper to frame mounts on his (his bumper mounts were too narrow also). Hopefully he'll see this and shed some light on his experience.

I did the front bumper not the rear lol.

I did have an issue with one of my bolts not lining up but since it was just one I left it out for now. I'll probably grind the hole open wider with a Dremel so it'll clear the bolt hole. I don't think it was an issue with the bumper since I bought it off someone that had it mounted on an 04... my front end might be just tweaked on that side by a hair.

Contact TG and they should be able to do a replace free of charge. I had this same issue and since I was local I went to their HQ and had them replicate my problem when they tried to mount it. I think mine was a centimeter off. It’s a solid mount point and there’s no way to move/bend it to fit. Keep us updated.

    I’m assuming it’s this one?

Yep that's it. Well since I didn't dry fit and spent about 50 bucks in primer and paint on top of several hours labor prepping and painting I was hoping I could sweet talk the rear frame rails in 1/8 inch or so. Thanks for the replys fellas.

I had the same issue on my all pro front bumper, we filed one of the front mounting holes on the bumper
Unless my frame was tweaked as well which is possible from how many deer I hit in the previous years

Yeah, the side that mine didn't line up on was the side with the recovery hook on it...a couple years ago I had to get winched off an obstacle on a rocky snow covered mountain and it took the full power of my friend's 10k winch to get me up and over. I feel like that might have tweaked something, if anything. Truck's never been in a wreck before.

Every other bolt hole lined up perfectly, just not that one (and they all lined up on the previous owner's truck that sold me the bumper), so it's gotta be something with my truck

The style of the newer A-P/TrailGear rear bumper makes me really happy that I got mine (pre-buyout) when I did, and its fitment was perfect for my 04.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Actually, the fitment issues are from before the buyout. TrailGear was finding all kinds of problems with fitments and the jigs etc with AllPro.

@TacoJohn4x4 was literally at their shop talking to them about it with his bumper when they had to swap his out with a new one.

TrailGear will be making AP better... not worse.

Yeah mine didn't want to line up on the driver's side where I took most deer hits lol so it definitely makes sense it was our trucks.

I'd say AP/TG putting out a bumper that doesn't even fit onto the truck is worse.

Had a similar issue with my CBI DIY front bumper. Of course my issue was 100% my doing (since it's a kit), but I ended up with one of the vertical plate only an 1/8" too narrow to fit over the winch mount plates.

1/8" doesn't seem like much but the only solution was :sawzall: and :welder:

Vertical 1/4" plates here: had to cut one off and re-weld it since the part of the bumper that mounts to this is completely integrated into the plate bumper.

And I'd say chances are over 100% that bumper was fabricated before TG bought AP.

Because that is one of the exact issues TG was finding wrong with AP's jigs etc, when they took over.

I absolutely think there will be better (and more) R&D in AP products now, as well as more consistency in their finished products as well as customer service and product support.

I'd say it's good in the long run, from what I heard All Pro wasn't doing so good before that with the owner being sick or something like that. TG stepping in and taking over will hopefully keep their product line going for longer, once the kinks are worked out.

TG does seem to be buying out a lot of companies though, they just took over Wheelers Offroad as well. Hopefully they keep the product diversity going

ARB Bumper, SOS sliders, SOS rear bumper, SOS skid plate. OME Lift. Some other stuff.
When I installed my SOS Rear bumper it was a little tight. Used my HI-Lift to spread the frame just a hair so that it would slide on.

This may be the best approach seeing as OP has time and money invested in painting the bumper already.
