Dang, these are nice bumpers, tempting. I need to get sliders first then maybe these IF I really get into off-roading.

Wish there was a GB for your All Pro sliders...hint, hint!!

I'm patient and not in a rush. I have had two separate e-mail chains with All-Pro that go all the back to may discussing this fundamental flaw. It seems like the issue keeps get swept under the rug.

If you do any mediocre winching with this bumper you will without doubt bend the brackets the bumper mounts to. The bumper itself IMO is plenty strong the issue is how it mounts to the truck, the mounting points on the truck are not designed to have any pulling force applied to them. I have even gone as far as sending an idea of a bracket they could fab up that would help eliminate the problem (seen below).

I have wanted to keep the issue private as not to create any All-Pro drama on the forum. At the end of the day I still love my AP bumper especially at group buy prices. To all that plan on doing any serious offloading with use of winch... sadly you may want to consider a bumper that is better reinforced to the frame of the truck just my .02.

All-Pro makes some awesome stuff and I would have no problem put other AP products on my truck. This group buy is still a definite

Hmm. That is a problem that needs to be addressed. I'm hoping AP chimes in with a response. It doesn't make sense if a winch can't be used w/o problems like this, especially after spending this kind of bank.

    That's how I feel.

And once again my intension is not to jack the thread or scare anyone away from one of these sweet bumper. It's just to help improve what is already awesome.

Reasons I LOVE my All-Pro bumper:
    Light weight
Modular (Replace damaged sides if ever needed)
D-Ring mounts (ARB does not have this on 2nd gen bumpers – Very handy when using a snatch block with a winch)
    Price
    Awesome off road clearance
    Styling

    Thing I don’t like:
I wish it was mounted to the truck more securely.

Well, just like a chain. Its only as strong as its weakest link. And the mounting points are the most important strengths or weaknesses.

    All Pro,

Please respond to this serious issue. Thanks.

    X2

There are things you can do on your own to help the problem.

This helps but does not solve the problem.

Personally, I'm glad you have brought this issue up. AP is a good company , they will see this and take it seriously.

A similar issue happened with their rear bumper and it was redesigned for more strength.

One thing is for sure, if your product has a design issue, TW will find it. :)

I've winched a few times with the bumper, albeit only a handful of times, I haven't had any problems

The ARB bumper is were I got the idea of that bracket design. I've also come to find out that almost all aftermarket bumpers have several mounting points in addition to the factory bumper mounts.

I have faith in AP. This bumper only needs this one small tweak and it’s perfect IMO.
