I'll post when mine gets here and installed. Payed for it on the 25th, they said 4-5 days for the sliders, a couple of days for the holiday, it should be ready to load and ship soon.

I so hoped to get in on this...but just not quite loving the bumper. Thanks for the pictures. And I hope everyone that gets this bumper loves it.

    Just my critique (YMMV):

    1) Wish the top was contoured to the lines of the grill/lights like most others are (lower under the grill/higher under the lights). The flat top doesn't seem to fit the front end well.

    2) Wish the front of the bumper wasn't just flat...others have more angles which make them look higher-end. This, with #1 above, makes the bumper look mass-produced and generic to me.

    3) The "wings" don't match well with the wheel fender. They don't go to the end of the fender...stop too soon.

    4) Ditto Spoonman on the weak looking hoops.

Most other aftermarket Tacoma plate bumpers look better contoured to the lines of the truck, and have more faces which make the bumper look stouter and more design refined. Those bumpers (Elite, Bruteforce, Demelo, CBI, Relentless) look like they were designed exclusively for the Tacoma V2. This one looks like it happens to fit the Tacoma V2.

However...IF a hybid is ever designed...I'd bet it would rock!!!

i can tell exactly what they were thinking...

multiple options. when the bumper goes farther in towards the rear, around the sides, so it has that sharp point, it will work with LESS fender options. you can't take the fender flares off, cause the points on say, a relentless bumper will stick out in the wheel well... I've seen a picture where this happens, looks way worse than it being too short. also, if you get wider fenders, those other bumpers would look odd with them. Also, I don't want my bumper anywhere near my tires. Other bumpers almost recreate the stock front bumper's tire coverage (from the front view at least). Why do that? Don't we like our tires to be shown from the front of the truck? I like that look more!

I wouldn't WANT a busier looking front bumper. with more angles or faces, it would just add weight (more cuts, more welds) and for what? I liked the first AP bumper, enough to buy it. I love this second one, enough to buy as well... I like its simplicity, and its angles, everything. The approach angle is awesome compared to others, and I like that it's not as HUGE as my stock bumper was... like some other bumpers out there as well... I think AP has really hit the nail on the head with this one. Can't wait to swap mine and see it in person!

    Thanks!

We appreciate your feedback, and we understand that our bumper may not suit everyone's taste, but I would like to respond to a few points for clarification:

    1) We still offer our lighter, 3 piece bumper that does contour the front of the grill. We were one of the first to do it this way. However, to give our new line of bumpers a new look we went with a flat top with a 45 degree angle, and believe it or not, it actually covers more of the gap, giving it a cleaner look. We did indeed design this specifically for the 05+ Tacomas.

    2) Our bumper is low profile to get the best approach angle while still being able to mount a 9500 lb winch.

    3) We purposely ended the bumper short of the stock fender line so you can easily run 35"+ tires. There is even more clearance for larger tires than our other version.

    4) The hoops are solid, .120 wall tubing, welded on - nothing weak about them. I'll try to get a side pic with the hoops posted soon.

I have to agree. Some bumpers that I've seen with a lot more angles and such on the front just look bloated to me. I like the simplicity of this bumper. It looks a lot more solid than their original bumper and I like how it shows more of the tires, rather than covering them up. This is the first plate bumper I've seen that I actually like the hoops on it, as well. I like that they wrap around further, seemingly providing more protection, and look aggressive.

My only real issue so far (I don't have it yet, so can only say from pictures) is with the weight. 150lbs is quite heavy and combined with a winch and skidplate it requires some pretty heavy duty suspension. With that being said, I imagine this thing will probably be able to take a serious beating, which is exactly what I'm looking for in a plate bumper. I've cut weight where I can but protection is my primary objective with armor and this *should* provide plenty of it.

    Just my .02.

I'm a little worried about the weight as well... But thinking I'll shed some pounds where I can, or redistribute maybe...

This bumper, no hoops, weighs in at 132 lbs. What did the previous one weigh? Couldn't be much less... Mine was NOT easy to install, alone, lol...

Can anyone from All Pro give us the weight of the 3 piece bumper? I'm definitely curious as to how much more this new one weighs. I would think less, if it's using less metal, you know? How does it weigh more?
