Yep I'm finally learning enough to teach others. But keep in mind that you'll have to do some more unique cutting if you get 285s or 33x12.50s

I have no experience with this issue but would a set of 1" spacers help OP to get rid of the rub on his 285's??

I have 33x12.50s right now. Much wider than the 285s

He does not have 285's. His main problem in the 12.5 width. I have the same tire size on my 99. I have trimmed the basic items but but still rub the Frame, Washer reservoir and the rear fenders. I bought 285/75r16 but they rubbed even worse since the are actually taller than 33/12.5r15. I had two choices for sizes left 33/10.5r15 or 265/75r16. I wanted to be 100% no rubbing and be able to use chains so 265 is it. Spacers are very unsafe and will put a ton of extra strain on your bearing.

Thats my exact issue. Except I'm gonna skip the 285/75 step so i can be completely sure

The 33/10.5r15 are made in KO2 and might be a great way for you to go and they are cheaper than 265 route. you will still have to do the rear fender bottom screw mod to get them flush and you will still rub the washer tank guard at full compression but that is all. What is the back space of your 15" wheels.

3.75, but I also wanna go back to a 16" cause I don't really like the 15" steel rim. id rather just run my stock rim until I can get some 16" alloys.

Make sure you get a 4-4.25 back space when you get the 16" wheels

Why is that? Just curious. And what is the stock backspacing on my older wheels.

It will help give the stance you are looking for to match the flares and give you more option for future tire sizes if you want to go bigger. The 04 in our build is a 4.1 BS. If I went 4.5 I would have probably had to put in a SPC UCA. Like I did on my other two. Angie's 04 has a 3" toytec billy lift and a 1.5 ADD in the rear but she has 250lbs of extra weight up front that brings it down to 2.5".

Okay thanks a lot. Will I have any problems running the 265/75s on my stock rims for a while.

Yes but a 3.75 will put strain on the bearings since they are so far out. 4" is the sweet spot but most rims are 4.5".
