What were the poor road manners? I’m about to get my 3rd set (since they’re great off-road and I just trailblazed the snow this weekend and didn’t have an issue). Won’t argue the noise though.

Typical tire thread, with opinions all over the map. In the end I guess it comes down to who do you believe, which tires do you like, and (unfortunately) price. My vote is for GY UltraTerrains (mine are 265/75-16), and not just because that's what I have right now. I've owned quite a few different tires from different manufacturers over the years, mostly ATs, and these are the best I've had so far. Very slight hum on the highway, nice compliant ride, only negative is handling is not quite as crisp & immediate as my last set of Michelins. Snow performance has been exceptional. Good luck and let us know what you eventually decide on.

If I’m being real, I’ve never had a truck tire that I’ve hated. Change my mind. I do have favorites though.

I loved my duratracs offroad, but hated the noise and the poor on road traction, may as well have a mud terrain thats truely for offroad at that point.

My cooper AT3's are great but they are wearing quickly (standardload) so I cant endorse them.

Toyo AT2's are famous for all around wear and traction in all but the cold. AT3's should be the same but we don't have enough winter miles on them yet. Plus they are really expensive.

I would say Falken AT3W or Yoko G015 for tame but decent all terrains.

I'm super happy with my Toyo AT3s. Their winter performance has been on par with the Duratracs I had before and more comfortable on road.

I'm just over 6000 miles on them now. I guess I'll find out in another 9000 miles or so.

I've never had bad luck with Cooper on any of my past vehicles, although they were not all-terrain tires. I've only ever used Cooper or Pirelli and one set of Generals that did well.

Kind of like my oil I suppose, Pennzoil for life. That's how Dad does it and it's worked out pretty well so far!

We have the Goodyear UltraTerrains on my Wife's Wrangler, we have been extremely happy with them as well.

Goodyear Wranglers are the skids on my truck.

Nope, I didn't choose them. They were on the truck when purchased.

Although, I've had Wranglers before on a Jeep Cherokee. Was really happy when they wore out. Went to a set of Michelins.

Won't be considering any other brand. Michelin only.

A lot of it had to do with the fact the Siping does not go down all the way to the base of the tread blocks, so around the 15k mile mark siping became very shallow / non existent and poof there goes any traction and big blocks of tread that cup bad.

I havent noticed any poor road manners with my duratracs. Idk what people are talking about. Traction seems better than my stick tires

@BOONDOCKSAINTS_TACOS if you haven't figured out by now, posting tire questions usually starts a circlejerk on this site second only to lift questions (you all know I'm right don't flame me). Everyone has had good experiences with Brand A, and at the same time everyone hates Brand A. It's anecdotes all the way down.

Might I suggest gluing your eyelids open and having a look at the Wheels & Tires sub-forum for all the information you could ever want on this topic. I dove down that wormhole on my own tire search and still haven't figured out what to get yet. Happy searching, godspeed.

This is my belief exactly. I would like to see a real world comparison of the top five with about 20,000 miles on them. Full depth siping wins for me.

The imperical evidence points towards duratracs

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/popular-tire-comparisons.654241/

They hum on the highway but its not too loud and the noise is worth the traction imo

Want some advice from a pro lol. I’ve got 3 inch leveling strut spacers and want to run a 33” tires on 17x9 wheels. Would 285/70r17 tired fit with no rubbing?

What kid of mileage are you getting? I come from an autocross background before my truck so I was used to getting under 10k miles out of a set of 200tw tires haha

Now I'm going to have to take a close look at my tires in the morning to see about this half siping

We'll see how it goes, only time will tell.
