Know the feeling. :D You should have that top end job done before then though.

That is something you will have to talk to my wife about. If I go you can be pretty sure that she is going too.

Also - what is with all the people backing out at the possibility of trail damage? This is off roading not mall crawling. Shit gets broke people. If you don't want any pin striping, dents, or broken shit go hope curbs in front of JCPenny.

You drove it off the car lot right? Then that bitch isn't brand new!

It is ok if you just want to wheel in the sand; but rocks are a lot of fun too. Nobody is saying you are going to get body damage; it is just a possibility. I have taken my PreRunner off road at Bridgeport and didn't come home with body damage. Adam has done the same many times and went home clean each time. So grab a water hose, wash the sand out of your vagina, and pack your recovery gear to go off roading.

I had a 2008 regular can before I got my 2010 so I know what kind of power the 4 banger has. If you don't like rocks then this is not the park for you. Stick to what you enjoy so you have fun when you are wheeling.

I've been driving standards for about 15 years now. First; your truck is
o new the clutch is probably still getting seated if you don't drive it hard. Second, from time to time I will smell some clutch but only when I'm doing something stupid. If you get good at letting it grab and driving with the gas you will be fine. Ask anyone who has wheeled with me.

Honestly riding with you I forgot your truck was a stick. You never had issues going up steep rocky inclines.

And if I'm not broke when this meet comes around I wouldn't mind testing out how far a locked 2wd will go.

And you would have to be crazy to plan a meet for Nov 4. That entire first week ought to be a state wide holiday anyway.

Added extra awesomeness to its original awesomeness.
I'm interested, the only date I could possibly make it is Nov 17-18, out of town the other 3 dates. Keep us posted.

you have some room to learn a little about driving clutch. when you feather the clutch you also rev the engine it kinda goes in sync. hard to explain and it take time to learn how.its like not rolling backwards from a stop on a good incline. 180 hp is plenty of hp my pickup 93 had 40-50 hp less. before a had this a/t(my current vehicle) i drove standards strictly. js :D and your 4 banger sounds good.i thought it was a 4.0 when i first heard it

Guys guys guys!! Lets not scare people away here. Any Tacoma will be more than welcome and encouraged to attend! From what I read on their website they have everything from Mild to Wild trails.

I talked them brian ther on the phone, and he said they have PLENTY of trails for stock trucks.

I took my stock Tacoma out there. We did a short trail that was not too bad. I got hung up on a spot since I had no sliders but got through. Then we went down some ledges and up a steep creek bank. Got back to camp and my rear bumper was dented along with a bedside.
I have been to HF twice and the 2wd safe roads are just the dirt roads that lead to the camps. You can travel some of the other roads but if you are not careful you can get yourself into a sticky situation.
Not trying to scare anyone but 4wd minimum and with out sliders, locker, skids, or bigger tires damage is very possible. Just know what you are getting into.
