On my way to work today and was proud of my truck so I had to post this. Kept it between 55-62 and did my best to keep the revs under 15. The route has several moderate grades, both rise and fall, and there was a mild cross wind. This was strictly highway. No stops, no lights.

I honestly don’t change my driving ways for fuel economy. Granted I wish my truck got infinite miles per gallon but in our world, 20+ is decent for midsize trucks now days. Imagine if they were smaller and lighter than the first gens with the tech we have now.

    Me neither.
When I drive, I do my best to enjoy the drive. Couldn't do it trying to stretch MPG's.

Buddy next door has a Rubicon and a Prius. Big dude and I always get a chuckle seeing him in the Prius, but I know he's picking the right tool for the job that day.

Not for me, but everyone's favorite color isn't orange either...

Congrats on some crazy mileage OP, I run an average on 15.0.

If you drive your Pro like a grandma to save a couple hundred bucks a year and think it’s worth it.......you bought the wrong vehicle.

It’s often the flavor of the week for me. Sometimes I feel like seeing how well I can do on fuel, other days I feel like ripping down the highway.

Man, 13 would kill me. Compared to the 23mpg I get, isn’t that like $1,300-1,400 more out of your pocket (~12,000 miles a year at SoCal gas prices?) Keep the truck ten years and it’s 13-14 grand.

Realistically, anything over 17 mpg is good with me at my “normal” driving (70-80 mph)

I’m with you here. Once I hit 70 my mileage quickly goes in the shitter.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh..... I dont think about that, or the fact that I'm running premium fuel. The sound of sweet sweet horse powers drowns it out.

Every mpg thread that involves Florida should have an asterisk.

Especially when the word hill is mentioned. A freeway overpass doesn’t qualify as a hill for discussion sake.

I don't have too heavy of a foot but don't get "on it" in town .... that said, on the highway I ususlly run 70-85 and that doesn't seem to change my "normal" mpg's of 16-17. When I first bought my Taco, I tried running it no more than 55mph and making only a couple of stops...naturally I did well at about 24mpg. I just don't drive like that so I can't bitch.

Yeah it’s long, but it’s through the Mojave desert and not really that bad of a drive. Gives me time to “unwind” after work before I get home.
