All these stickers!

Here in California they are too small to hold more than one car so people just turn them into extra living space or storage for all the trash they will never use again.

 

One of my favorite quips that came from a stereotypical engineer:

"The best way to keep a garage clean is to park your car in there."

...He wasn't wrong.

 

You have very strong opinions about what other people do with their things.

 

Easy solution ... just make a 12-ft-long, 8-ft-tall, 18-in-deep shelf and use it efficiently.

 

I put stickers on the inside of my bed. It usually has a cover on it so I’m the only one that sees them.

 

My wife keeps threatening to toss a match in here for the same reason.

 

10 years on a submarine will change how you feel about unnecessary clutter and the proper storage of gear.

 

Please send my fiance to submarine school then.

Chicago has a Museum of Science and Industry with a WWII German U-boat ... one that was boarded by Allied personnel to retrieve the enigma coding material. The submarine was going to be scrapped but the museum raised enough money to move it to Chicago. When touring the sumarine I asked the guide how many men were the boat ... pressure/internal hull length 190 ft by 14 ft. The answer was 56.

 

I sailed on an early flight Los Angeles class fast attack sub during the height of the Cold War with the Soviets. My boat was about 300 feet long by 33 feet in diameter and had a crew compliment of around 120 sailors. We were hunting the Russians and they were hunting us. It was fucking great!

Talk about a death wish ... Sorry, did I say that out loud?

 

FFG Sailor here, About the same size and 180 or so Sailors, we were under water about the same about of time we were on top of it in a few storms. Everything has a place, for a reason.

 

I cannot imagine the weight you two felt. I will not try to say something and just sound stupid.

 

We have family in Santa Barbara, so we’ve been staying in Carpinteria when we’re out there. What a cool place!
