That's nothing compared to what some of the CA people have been reporting. And every time I check Autotrader I see this Pro for sale at a dealer in Phoenix for $48,700. But then someone in the midwest will say their local dealer has had one sitting on the lot for weeks for under $43k. If I had to guess an average asking price I would guess $44k.

Is it just the sport that doesn't need it own thread, we need a place to talk about how much the non functioning hood scewp makes the truck.:crapstorm:

No, based on the reaction I got when I asked about the Limited trim, it doesn't deserve it's own thread either :anonymous:

I have had mine for almost 3 months and 2500 miles.

*Dealer experience was ok. My Pro was listed on Cars.com and was still enroute when I went in to work out a deal. Truck arrived a little over a week after putting down a deposit. They wouldn't come down from MSRP, and I did ok with my trade considering the tax savings.
    * Overall happy with the quality of the truck so far....small issues..
Intermittent tapping/rattle from driver side pillar/speaker cover
Light wind noise from driver window(not the whistle)
*Auto tranny seems good so far. I might have had a few shift flares.

i only test drove a couple OR's that were pretty well beaten down. kinda what you expect from a slightly loose truck with medium crappy tires and shocks, but it was only a couple test drives. so i'd rate it average from my few minutes. the Pro, however, is a dream on the highway, very smooth. it's a soft suspension but a nice tight chassis and good dampening, so it doesn't act like a boat. on the highway it feels more like a premium SUV than a truck, maybe even a tick softer with the spring rates.

I'm confused on this whole thread...what's different about the Pro other than suspension, that would need it's own thread for? Or is this a pissing contest?

No its an elitist orgy. All the pro owners circle jerking each other because they have dialed down fox suspension, a black plastic grille (instead of chrome) and an engraved skid plate. They think they're better than us while in reality we are laughing at them for spending so much money on a truck when they could've just gone out and bought a Raptor thats in the same price range.

Im getting that vibe too....it should be titled too..."Pro owners thread". Kinda like the TX Pro/Baja owners thread.

In all seriousness though if money wasnt an option I would have bought a Pro. I like some of the detailed aesthetics it has like the hood vinyl, black headlights/tailights. The badging has a different font. LED fog lights. All of it comes together really nice. Where the problem lies is all that stuff I just mentioned can easily be bolted onto a lower sub-model. That kind of takes away from the exclusivity of the PRO. If it had parts that weren't direct replacements it wouldn't have such a bad rap.

Why spend the extra money on a VIN matching PRO when I can buy all the parts that the pro came with and put them on at a fraction of the cost.

A Raptor super cab starts at $48k and a super crew starts at $51k on Ford's website. That's before you add a single option to it. Not sure why everyone wants to use that as a criticism of people who like the PRO. Most people buying a PRO are paying around $42-$44k. Not sure what your bank account looks like, but to mine those are very different prices and definitely NOT the same price range.

I haven't purchased mine yet, but why does it bother you if people who own/ are thinking about buying a PRO discuss it in one or many threads, but it doesn't bother you that people who own/ thinking about purchasing an OR trim or a Barcelona Red tacoma all gather to discuss one particular thing about the Tacoma? Are those discussions "orgies" or a "circle jerk"? It's just another specific Tacoma discussion in a forum full of even more specific Tacoma discussions. Isn't that the whole point of this forum to begin with?

This thread was specific to the Pro's "issues"...so let's think about this. What problems could the Pro possibly have that an Offroad wouldn't have. A leaky Fox shock? Skid plate oxidizing? The pro badge not as shiny as it use to be?

How about people hating on the Pro?

    That's a Pro issue.

Get out of my safe space!

I'm not hating on the Pro. I'm hating on the title of this thread.

It bothers me cause I'm jelly bro. :jellydance:

No man the PRO is cool no doubt, feel free to discuss it in it's own thread, just don't expect to not get any hate. Look at all the OR guys hating on the Sports. It happens almost every time. If I went and created a "2017 TRD Sport tips, tricks, and mods" thread I would probably get raped and beaten and then banished.

    LMAO...

What I have learned at TW

So we have the Pro folks being accused or are being better than the OR folks.
Then we have the OR folks being accused or are being better than the Sport folks.

So as a Sport owner I guess I should be putting down the Sr5 owners, and Sr5 guys you get to put down the base model.

    Do I have this right?

Ok, for real. Why do we need to measure each other? How about too each is their own, and congrats on buying what we hope is a dam good truck no matter the trim level.

    Actually the title says
"Known Issues, Tips, Tricks and Mods"

All I'm saying is this discussion is no different than any of the other million overlapping subjects taking place here. I'll use the same example I used above in response to your question: Why would someone need a specific discussion about an Inferno Tacoma when those function the same as the non inferno Tacomas? That seems to be the criticism here? But only when it regards the PRO?

The specific Inferno thread your talking about is a pictures thread or BS threads. Not a technical thread like this is trying to be. Show me 1 thread that is a "tips, tricks and mods" thread solely for Inferno Tacomas

I haven't been here long, but I learned quickly that not much is done without some hate. But I won't lie - some of it is just strange to me... But it doesn't affect me or what truck I plan to buy. I hope everyone buys the truck they want and that truck makes them happy for as long as they own it

Lol...Change the title to Pro Owners thread. This thread wouldn't be catching the wrong attention. Simple as that.
