... I’m never going back to shorts. So comfy, any shirt is good and they ‘auto adjust’ just by standing up.

 

I’d stick to anything Shimano for clipless, they work so well and are virtually indestructible. I’ve seen lots of other manufacturers fail.

We ride all the same trails, I've prob ridden past him a few times.

Also, apparently I make a cameo in my buddy Eric aka "Ridelabs" video for the WOW trail at the end. I've had 3 of my coworkers come tell me about it today.

 

I have these on my hardtail commuter. They're simple and just work, both as clipless for performance and flats for when you just wanna cruise.

No bottle loops, gotta use the 2L bladder. If it's worth anything, I am anti-bladder in most situations and avoided them like the dickens until this pack. The bladder on this bum bag has worked flawlessly for over a year though and I prefer it over bottles now.

The pockets and dividers seem well thought out and are pretty useful for me. There are cinch straps for the bottles, but their placement on the waistband doesn't allow them to put any pressure on the bottles when they are fully tightened. That seems like a pretty big oversight, since 30 seconds of testing shows that the straps are useless. The bottle pockets are made from spandex and have elastic around the top, but you'd be relying on that to hold the bottles.

 

Any of you guys running hip packs skinny guys like me? 30" waist and 135lbs, and wondering if any will stay put.

Just want something to hold a little water bladder and a packable jacket and that's about it.

 

Yes, occasionally. Have to make it super tight at the start so as I drink it loosens to a comfortable tightness

 

@honda50r all the shimano DH brakes(Saints/Zee etc) use the shorter bolt and the banjo attaches on top instead of the side.

 

You do you, but...

one of the reasons I like my Camelbak-type rig is that it might add a little spine protection in a crash.

Just a thought.

 

Based on those numbers, I’m similar with a 31” waist and 150lbs. No issues with my spartan dakine 2l hotlaps staying in place and comfortable.

 

You guys are the size of my thigh.

Wearing a camel-back. Washed out on a berm, bike went down in to a creek, I went over the bars and over the creek, landed on my back in a rock garden, broke a rib. But my spine is good...

 

I mean...maybe. I'll take my chances on literally any other type of crash to avoid a camelbak. I only carry one for first aid on guided rides

We're half way through the Strava Trek Challenge, and I'm on track to beat my mileage from last year. Rode 612 last year, and I should be in the neighborhood of 700 miles this year.

Not bad for a old fat guy...lol
