Hey I recently had an experience with selling a used bike and I can tell you that their system is widely inaccurate. They valued my bike at $1600 and I sold it in one day for double that. I also got a quote from the Pro’s Closet that was inline with what I sold it for on the used market.

I still ride my '09 Trek (26"). When I was looking to get a newer 29 or 27.5 I came across two guys near me that were selling the exact same bike as mine and both got nearly double the bike blue book price for "excellent" within two days.

I have a 2017 trek stache 7 with cupacabra oem tires and the rear one has about 5 or 6 seep spots in the tread in various places. I ordered a new set of 2 ply wtb rangers since these tires and sealant are over 3 yrs old now.....as well as the sram brake fluid...maintenance time has come due. Time to pony up and pay for more fun. Also have a box full of upgrade parts for the manitou magnum on it but will get shop to do that. Pretty limited selection on 29x3.0 tires. Did like the bontrager xr4 team issue but they were $30 more each than the wtbs....probably for good reason but oh well, went with wtb's for now.

would a base Capra $2,300 be a good route to go or better to buy used?

I do like the idea of new since I’d know how much abuse the bike has had as opposed to used.

Seat post is a oneup v2 180mm. They make a 210mm drop as well. The mudguard is zip tied on. It use to be longer in the front but I cut it. I know Rockshox, Fox and Scott are starting to make bolt on fenders for their new forks though.

I'm going to assume that you wore masks in public... Sorry, wifey and I cancelled a big road trip to the NW this summer due to the current COVID situation. I'm a bit irritated when I see people giving no shits about it and endangering others. I'm sure you guys did the right thing.

On their website it says in stock but available until January 6 2021, I think imma have to call some shops see if any are carrying since waiting till next year is insane and that does seem like a really good value for the price

Yeti is a direct sales company. Not going to find new bikes in a shop unfortunately

YT is a direct to consumer brand so you won't find any at a shop, unless it's a used one.

Bike market has been hit hard this year, and there's lots of backlog on new bikes. Seems more often than not they're unavailable.

I was eyeing a new Commencal Meta TR - you could check them out too, same direct to consumer model as YT, but guessing you'll find the same thing.

Also, funny you guys were just talking about it - I went on a mtb, tenkara adventure this weekend. Didn't find the native cutties I was looking for, but the ride down was still fun.

YT is direct sales. Yetis are sold at dealers. Just a clarification.

I was checking out the Commencal Meta TR, as well. Kept going back and forth since I just bought a new bike in May, and missed the July preorder. Now they’re pushed out until November 2020. The nice thing for us in Colorado is that Commencal’s US office is in Golden. I called them mid June just to get an idea on how warranty’s are processed and such and was pretty impressed with their customer service. Their office in Golden is a 12,000 sq ft facility with all replacement parts in stock. If there’s an issue, call them and they’ll ship out the new part, or if you’re local, drop in and they’ll replace it in house. Also if you’re local, they’ll build the bike for $39 and you can pick it up pre-assembled, suspension set and ready to go. Got a very local vibe from a global company.

There’s also this video that I can’t quit watching from Commencal. Damn marketing gets me every time. Gets me motivated to buy a new Commencal and just go rip...
