2019 Santa Cruz Bronson CC. OE shock. Damage started as one scrape to piggyback, now it has multiple scrapes.

RockyMounts hitch rack. Secures back wheel and front wheel. Nothing hits the shock.

    Transport it alone only.

what about when two bikes are on the rack and a pedal from the other bike hitting it?

oh dear god. that sucks. the only way that would happen is something hit it. either a pedal like @andnyleswillriot said or some rock kicked up and hit it or you fell and scraped it on something? that's a really odd location entirely though. Very hard to hit something there.

it started off as a single white line, and that’s what I thought. I thought a rock or something hit it. But the area looks to be getting hit repeatedly at the same angle in the same spot, so I’m convinced it has to be the swing arm.

True. constant rub on it makes it sound liek the suspension. is there anything sticking out where the reservoir woudl hit? I know you've said you've already checked it all. Is the frame flexing under you as it travels through the suspension?

swing arm has no marks on it that I can see. I do feel a slight flex in the bike sometimes when taking a turn at speed. It feels similar to a tire with low air pressure, but tires are good (I was asking about that yesterday for the same reason). I will probably need to tear down the whole bike and check it all out. Linkages are all tight so I’m kind of concerned the carbon could be flawed/weak in some area. I also sent the picture to Santa Cruz to see if they had any idea

yeah. no idea. would think that the linkage system is rubbing into it somehow. Keep us posted to what SC says! UBER curious now.

the only thing close enough to the piggyback to touch it is the swing arm, so it has to be that. The reason it’s able to reach there... that’s the ultimate question

Let's talk saddles, my WTB is starting to split at the seams after almost two years of riding. I've never had any problems with it, comfort-wise, but I've also never really given it any thought. I've seen good things about the Ergon SM Pro. I guess maybe it's better for your dick so I was thinking about giving that a try. Thoughts?

if you've never had an problems why not get another WTB? 2 years is a good life I'd say with your riding.

or are you worried maybe you're missing out on even more comfort?

Well if there is truth that the Ergon is indeed better for my dick, then I want to get that one. #treatyoself

If I remember correctly it’s that cutout that’s supposed to keep your junk from going numb. I have an SR comp On my old road bike which is similar to the SM. It’s solid but I prefer the WTB volt which doesn’t have as big of a cutout as other. Maybe the volt just has more padding idk

If you're going numb down low, I'd recommend getting another saddle asap.
Cut outs are more so keeping your junk getting air. If something doesn't get air, it tends to die. Same goes for your dick. If it doesn't have air and blood pumping in it, that's a bit of a worry. The WTB Volt doesn't have a cut out but it does have a pretty deep groove in their saddle to get some breathing done.

Yeah I’m good to go with the volt now, I haven’t had any issues with it since I got it. The bontrager Arvada is solid too, that’s what I run on my stache. I tried the bontrager montrose pro which has a big cutout but basically no padding, no numbness but I found out why chamois butter exists. This is all super personal though and all trial and error in my opinion.

Gonna be sending my Ergon Enduro back for warranty replacement. Not sure if I’ll keep it or move to something else.
