I don’t often quote myself, but when I do it’s damn important. ;)

My stand came in today. I haven’t unboxed it yet but plan on some action shots post unpacking.

Ordered on July 8th and today is August 17th. Thank you 2020.

Just went with a pr of WTB Ranger 2 ply to replace my chupacabras with on my stache. $30 more per tire for the XR4 team issue tires was the determining factor for me. Had narrowed it down to those 2. Yes, slim pickings on 29x3.0 tires.....car tire prices for bicycle tires is gettin silly.

How often do you guys generally replace tires? I’m coming up on a year on my DHF and it’s got tears on the knobs. My Aggressor has had a shit life with a side wall slash I patched up and small tears. Maybe I’ll get another year if I’m lucky.

I run Maxxis exclusively, I replace mine when the side lugs start to “roll over” when I push them with my thumb, they start to tear on the inside. When they do that they don’t grip in hard corners and I loose confidence.

But the answer to your question is, more often than you think. Nothing like that first rip on a fresh set of rubber.

If I'm lucky a tire will make it through a whole bike season. The desert really eats up tires.

The best time of the year. September-December tend to provide the best temperatures annually and give great colors. January and February is when the Spring rain starts

That’s more like what I was thinking. This is my first bike and it seems like the rear will need to be replaced before the front.

Yep, the rear takes way more abuse. Almost all of my blown tires and spokes have occurred on the rear. In fact, the fancy carbon wheelset I just ordered build the rear wheel with 32 spokes and thicker carbon layup, whereas the front gets 28 spokes and a lighter layup.

I'd guess I replace my rear 1.5x more than my front, maybe even more than that.

I wanna take a guess. It’s when the chair lift services switch from MTB to skis and snowboards.

That's about how I'd describe it too. Many of the mountain regions around the country are buried in snow all winter. I have biking opportunities in the winter being in the Seattle area, but I still don't consider it "biking season." Obviously that doesn't track for 100% of the country.

I think the closest place for us that uses lift services for MTB is Beech Mountain, NC. I’ve been snowboarding there before it’s a cool place.

I don’t think Gatlinburg has any MTB trails even though they have lift service.

Crazy times. I’ve have a new to me shock that’s been sitting around collecting dust for over a month now. No ones had the mounting hardware I need to run it on my frame in stock.

It depends on mileage. The calendar doesn't wear your tires out. I used to get about 1k miles, maybe 1250, per rear tire. My last set went almost 2k and this set looks to be doing about the same.

That's Michigan clay/sandy soil with mostly hardpack and change to fatties in the winter.

Cane Creek doesn’t have it? Can you press out the hardware from your air shock?

Cool. I'm thinking October, maybe Nov depending on weather here.
