New here. Finally got a shuttle worth more than my bike.. You don’t even want to know what i was using before. New to tacoma’s little overwhelmed with this forum, I probably know a lot more about bikes than trucks. I originally got the taco with the intention of getting a tailgate pad and shuttling/transporting me and all my friends. But.. now that I got not sure I want their sweaty asses in my truck.. Is that wrong? At least for a year or so

Congrats on the truck, some good seat covers are going to come in handy for you shuttling your buddies.

Has anyone running the Galaxy S7 had major issues with Strava for the last ~month?

All the sudden it is super spotty on the GPS and it is throwing off all the stats. It missed a whole 2 mile loop yesterday, but then said I averaged 138 miles an hour on my favorite downhill! INFINITE KOM STATUS!!! I'm not really a strava maniac, but I do like to use it to track my yearly distance, etc.

I have not had issues except when my battery was low enough that power saving mode kicks in. It scales or powers down any non-required modules ( the GPS chip ). I don't think apps like Strava are able to cope when the hardware isn't responsive to API calls. Try starting the ride @ 100% and disabling powersaver mode.

Yeah, I normally start out pretty high on the battery power. I did notice last night I had the battery on a mild power saving mode, so I reverted to a non-saving mode and am going to test it on a ride around the block. I think you may be on to something...

I don't do any of that tech stuff but my wife does, and often seemed to have weird results. Since she only charges her phone when it really needs it, I wonder if that's the problem. Last year she switched to a Garmin wrist GPS that she can then upload the data to various iOS apps, but that has a tiny battery and we can sometimes outride it even though she does always try to start with a fully charged Garmin battery. I do use my phone and MTBproject or Trailforks for navigation (and elevation checks) but I prefer not to measure speed, distance or time, just fun factor.

You might need to drop the tracking points frequency down on your wife's watch. It won't be quite as accurate but should last way longer, unless you are going for 12hr rides that is than not much one can do about that.

Trail work day after our first big snow. I maintain a mile of trail that is a mile hike from the nearest access point. Took me 45 minutes to just to clear the first 150 yards from the road, then I ran out of bar oil and forgot the container at home. Throwing the bike in the truck was wishful thinking...

There's a trail in there somewhere:

We do trail work in the fall/winter here too. No snow though :) But lots of poison oak day at Saturday's work location, and I'm starting to itch now despite no exposed skin and a refreshing Tecnu scrub down when I got home. At least I wasn't on the crew that discovered a huge yellow jacket nest two sections below me.
