I totally understand everyone has different financial constraints for a bike budget. My wife has finally realized that I am pretty reasonable about our money with bikes and if I don't have a healthy hobby I turn into a jerk.

I wouldn't say I think about resell that much but I usually get the new bike itch around the 2 year mark. I basically invest $3k in cash at that point and usually sell my old bike before its value drops below the $3k mark so I'm around $6k for a new bike. I guess if you had to do the math I buy a bike and start saving around $125 a month for a new one. For me and the amount I ride, selling around the two year marks also keeps me from starting to replace expensive components as they begin to wear out.

I also demo'd the new Switchblade. I felt it was OK, but very similar to my Mach 5.5 (and yes, the Bronson and Mach 5.5 are practically identical). And honestly, I think the Mach 5.5 with it's paltry 27.5 wheels is way more fun of a bike than the Switchblade. In the end, I think I was looking for a real change and moving from a Mach 5.5 to a Switchblade wasn't enough change for me. I'm extremely happy with the Firebird29.

One of my least favorite feelings. If I had a longer ride, I'd probably need a shower when I got to work.

I make almost all the money in our household so its almost pointless to have separate accounts. I'd just be transferring shit all the time and she really doesn't care in the end. For me, its more of a courtesy thing.

I'm a fan of Pivots, I think mainly because I want to try the hype that DW brings to climbing.

I've looked into some of the import bikes and 2 that stand out were Privateer and Madonna V2.

totally understandable, and makes sense. I don't really have a "financial plan" for buying bikes. Haven't gotten that deep yet, since this is my first non-300$-dickssportinggoods-bike.

The DW Link is no joke. Two Mach 5.5s and a Firebird29 and I've never locked out a shock when climbing. Ever. It's not hype, it's science! Do it!!

    Thanks, it constantly is changing

sold both these last year . The Les was 18lbs and also ran the Axs that I have on top fuel now. It was like 1.2lbs heavier with Axs

do you ride a ton and cycle through bikes (pun intended). or just like changing it up? i ride at least twice a week but its hard for me to pick up another steed for the stable. really looking for an aggressive hardtail or short travel full squish, but love my patrol so much.

I typically ride 4-5 days a week, idk if I would call it a ton but depending on how much road to mountain I do typically between 100-180 miles a week. I’m def prefer ss over any of the bikes. The ti vassago compared to steel is also night and day. Metal bikes just feel so much better on the dirt (less harsh)

check out the vassago radimus. Super aggressive geo
