Are they like a mesh on top? Like see through? That’s the summer version. I think that’s all they made of those space ones.

Yeah I think white was summer and orange was standard for the space design

Mechanix gloves actually work real well for riding. :bikewhoops:

At 1/2 the price of riding gloves. Problem is everybody wants you to work on their bike when they see you sporting them.

Cheers to another one like me! I use Mechanix for just about everything. Winter gloves for shoveling? Mechanix. Riding? Mechanix. Working on the truck? Mechanix. I still have buddies I can get surplus ones from so I get some in OD, or in black.

Eventually going to be buying some type of hardtail for the wife to ride with me on green trails and for me to take out when I just want to play around. Her old bike is essentially a 15 year old bike, so this will be her only bike when we get one.

Want to make sure it pedals well so we can take it out on gravel trails and she can get longer rides in. Definitely want it to be a bit XC orientated for that, but still needs to be fine for me to take out on most singletrack

Any recommendations to look at in the sub $1,500 range? No problem buying used either.

I would look into the Trek Roscoe. A little more forgiving on the trail and likely fun for you when you "borrow" it.

Thanks, was looking at these as well! Figured I could just run some light tires/wheels for her and then swap my wheels/tires over from my full suspension when I wanted to hit an actual trail

Diamondback makes some good lower end options that are affordable as well

Marin makes a lot of interesting lower spec bikes. Solid recommendation!

Roscoe is the budget Stache. It'll rip!

I’d say that if you’re trying to swap wheels then I’d double check the roscoe. I believe it has a weird QR boost spacing so idk what wheel/hub compatibility is like

Yeah that’s definitely a fair concern haha. I think you just need to replace 148 hub end caps with QR end caps but it’s dependent on the hub manaufacturer and whether they make end caps
