I’ve saved up enough money to add another bike. I’d really like to find a gravel grinder and wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions. Price 2500 to 3k.

I test rode a Norco Search the other day, it was pretty nice... the demo bike was setup with 650b wheel set. I ride a fair amount of CX, so for gravel grinders I put on 35mm tires and change the gearing on my Specialized Crux... works for me, but that Norco is tempting.

Love this thread, so I thought I’d finally post up.
Just took a trip to Fruita, Moab and slc this weekend. Got some off-roading and riding in, and even got a luck powder day at Brighton.
Some pics of the truck and the steed.

The first pic I’ve seen which shows space in the back. I was hoping my bike would fit over the tailgate with the tonneau cover, but guesss not. I’m awaiting my truck.

Yeah great weekend here, I went out to cherry valley, don’t have legs for grand ridge yet. :)

@KB Voodoo bar with Rocky Mounts. Using ratchet straps to hold the bike from sliding side to side until I figure out a better solution.

How do those bars do with water in the rain? Seems like it might let some water in?

Luckily we don't get too much rain here in Vegas. But ironically it rained all weekend. On the the side with the retention bolt it has a pretty good seal. The side without has an obvious gap in the front but I didn't notice any water whenever I peaked my head in.

The bar is mounted at the very front of the side rails, so only one of the the holding bolts has a good grasp onto things but it's still very solid. If you moved the bar back behind the latch it would probably have a better seal. But I preferred to have my bike(s) not hanging off the back of my bed.

Yeah... no dice on my cover folded up... still not enough room. luckily it pops off in a few minutes

In my best shape, Grand Ridge still kicks my ass.

Funny, don't think I've ridden out near Cherry Valley. what's it like?

Check out north shore racks. Great for long distance trips and for shuttle runs.

Cherry valley is a mini tiger or grand ridge ( I’ve yet to ride both - but looking at elevation on Trailforks gives an idea ). The trails are straight up and down but short. So good for getting going without too long a climb. I never go to the falls - the mtb trails are off to the left of the main one. I’m still learning ( just started riding last year ) and the downhill blues at cherry are quite challenging for me as are the uphills for my lungs. Most importantly it’s about 10 -15 min from my house. :)

I need to get back up to WA with my bike.

I bought a mountain bike the week I moved to Utah and love it, but I used to live in Issaquah and had no idea there was riding around there. I could have done lunch laps at work every damn day.

just bought an 18 TRD and ive been binging on this forum since, and have been obsessing over this thread in particular at work today....definitely isn't helping with my winter blues up here in new England, haven't been able to unite the two yet but figured id chime in and hope it helps scratch the itch a little bit(probably not though)

Love the Turner. One of my friends has one, but you never seem to find them here in the states.
