Hahah nice I love that they match! Thats funny your working on the bunny hop. I've been working my friends on their's, and the urban ride has been helping them a lot. Im actually working on making some youtube content and my first video is going to feature my friend and his bunny hop lessons...

Hand up make great gloves. I've got four pairs I picked up via various sales. Check out some of the bigger youtubers they often have promo codes for 15% off. The first time I ordered from them I got larges, as that's what they suggested since I wore a large dirtpaw, but they were waay to big. They swapped em out for mediums for me with zero fuss which started a touch tight but broke in well.

Awesome thanks for the info, that was my biggest concern not knowing the fit. I also discovered them through watching BKXC and Single track Sampler.

Nice! Looks like a good first(?) bike.

Cool kid tip #1: "debadge" the reflectors

Yeah it's an Entry Level Diamondback, the reflector up front came loose today, probably will just pull it off.

I just looked it up. Definitely a good spec for the price!

I've been known to take the reflectors off still in the bike shop :D. Speaking of, become first name friends with your local bike shop service department by any means necessary. I've stocked their beer fridge a time or two, and it has paid off when it counts, like dragging it in 5 mins before close because something broke last minute before a trip, race, etc.

If you want to enjoy biking a little more, hop on youtube and watch / subscribe to GMBN, Skills with Phil, and Seth's Bike Hacks. These 3 will teach you EVERYTHING you could need to know about bikes and how to ride them for just about anyone.

Then watch the IFHT videos for a laugh, specifically "how to be a mountain biker"

A helpful app to have is Trailforks if you don't already. Basically google maps / Gaia maps for bikes. Can find all the local trails, and their data (elev, length, etc) and even trail pictures and reports.

    https://www.trailforks.com/

Lastly, welcome to your new drug addiction! You thought your truck was expensive? Hold your wallet's beer!

Looks like the plus equivalent of my custom painted Farley- just a shade darker. Nice looking bike!

Thanks! Hoping to get out for one ride this weekend before I have to put it in storage while I’m at training.

A+++++ on the hand up gloves. After first using them when they first came out, that is all I buy now. They start wearing out after about 2 seasons but its worth it for the great bar feel they provide. The regular ones are pretty thin on the top so not so good for cold weather, but they just came out with a winter version with a thicker back that work great. Also.....

Those reflectors all will get loose and fall off, most likely littering the trails. It’s better for the mountain playgrounds, and adds cool points. Total win win.

The plastic disc behind your rear gears should be removed too. It’s supposed to help protect your spokes but as long as you keep the drive components maintained, you won’t need it. I’ve seen them crack, chip, and break from normal use.

And welcome to mountain biking!! Keep doing it, keep progressing, you will love it. Try to find a group, or even one person, to ride with too if you don’t have one, makes learning quicker and makes the climbs more bearable.

Don’t forget MTBProject app. Off line maps, local rides and trails. It’s my go to for riding new area and exploring.

I just ordered this frame from chainreaction yesterday (almost 50% off). First hardtail since I started riding 25 years ago.
Ragley Big Wig. Steel, long, low, slack, boost. Going to build it with a slx drivetrain, 2.8 nics, 130mm pike. Plenty of random pieces (including new raceface arc 30 wheels and guide brakes) left in my house from past bikes for the rest of the build.

Since most modern phones always have a lot of storage, unless you clutter ‘em up with music and videos :) I recommend loading both Trailforks and MTBproject, personally I prefer the latter. Also maps.me is my current go-to nav and map app for many places.

Test fitting my Kore bed bars with the Yakima Frontloaders. Fit great and these bars are solid. Just need to get the bars painted.
