I second the rec for shorts with adjusters. I would for sure not want to wear a belt riding. Even an arcade.

I’ll look into that for new shorts but would hate to not be able to wear what I already own.

I get that. So your current shorts have loops? My mid section can, uh, tend to fluctuate and the adjustable waist is nice. I had to retire some shorts in the past after losing some weight though. Cost of getting in shape I guess. I think the waists can tend to stretch out and relax a bit over time too.

I highly recommend Arcade belts. You can just leave them on your shorts and wash them when you need to. I’ve given them as gifts to all my redneck buddies and they all agree they are the best thing since sliced bread. They have them at Rei if you want to check them out.

Well I just checked them, and apparently I was wrong. They have a long elastic section across the back that keeps it cinched.

so basically those are gonna be a wash if I keep shrinking waist lol.

I guess ignore this topic haha.

Any rec for model? Lots of choices on their site. I was looking at them a while back after getting some very stretchy casual pants that made a not stretchy belt very obvious.

I wear my zoics to the Thanksgiving dinner table for this reason. They're my turkey eating pants!

I bought some Duer No Sweat Pants earlier this year and they are basically life changing comfortable. I can wear them to work because they look like normal pants but you legit feel like you're wearing sweats around all day. They would handle Thanksgiving no problem!

    not enough.
It's accurate but their measure point is funky. I can tell you right now that the xs instinct has a very different shaped top tube that definitely makes the bike shorter for standover. I hardly ever look at standover and you can always explain to newer riders what that actually means. :/

@backcountryj What's your budget for #WifeBike? I'm doing my usual Friday bike listing cruise and if I find anything good in a small, I'll give you the heads up.

    <$2500 is the goal

Frame only purchases are optional too. Just gotta factor in the expense of buying wheelset/fork/dropper.

I would ride it for the laughs. I doubt I’d even be able to stay on from how funny it would be.
