    Just a little bikecurious :anonymous:

Firebird and Pivot in general are great though, and could see myself working back to them eventually. I can’t use the phrase wheelin and dealin since I don’t offroad anymore can I? Lol

Myself personally yes, but I do got a sweet 2021 Trek Slash 8 with axs at the house, I live 10 mins from Oak Mtn where my bro lives 1 hour so it stays with me. I was making the joke even if I was bikeless for a bit it wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. I would dedicate a lot more time fixing the house up.

In my lowly opinion riding a bike consistently is a big part of getting fast. But with that being said not everyone is trying to get fast and be dumb on bikes like me though

Ordered a space brace for my ankle, spending more times on jumps and drops have really irritated it.

Fully agree, easier to ride a bike that you know exactly how it reacts.

My thoughts on it were I’ve had fun, hadn’t lost anything, and got an awesome drivetrain through all of this buying and selling. I had scuffed the bike pretty good and had a tag on the fork stanchion.

No bearings had been replaced, suspension hadn’t been serviced, etc… So it may have been coming up on big maintenance schedules.

I can see the logic. Time for a slack short travel ripper, jump on the wagon

Down-Duro bro.. Actually a slack 130mm bike is probably the best thing for where I live. Mostly climbing with some downhill. I just want an Enduro bike for when/if I travel.

A YT Izzo would work perfect, but I'm trying to not be a buyer right now unless a good local deal comes along.

Agreed! Fuzzy bunny is one of my favorite rides anywhere. We'll definitely ride the pass if there's nothing else.

I was looking on trailforks and realized there's the Phillips canyon area, that's kinda off the pass and I've never ridden.

Bikes are fun, all of them. I see nothing wrong with swapping around different bikes if thats what tickles your pickle. Ride what you want and be a dick about it.

I did tell the guy straight swap for that Shuttle, he wouldn't take it lol.
I generally ride what I find.

So what's supposed to be the best hardtail for say under 2000. I'm more curious than serious.

I definitely don’t rip as well as you guys but the slack Prime I have with 135 in the back has been fun/lively while also not making me feel underbiked.

Would love to try out a 110-120 rear travel bike as have heard so many amazing things about Ripley, Phantom, Following, etc.

Best for what, though? "Best" is so subjective.

My personal favorite bike is my steel, singlespeed, 29+ tires, $1700, Surly Krampus. It's the "best" bike I have for anything smooth with fairly tame ups/downs.

My kids this AM biking to school. It gets exciting when we take the “secret passage” behind the grocery store and they ride through the nasty water in the potholes. My wife is always shocked at how they get so dirty “at school.” A mystery.

    It’s the C12. It’s actually a 2013 I found used recently.
