Whole video is good, but 3:45 is where TTC in Chattanooga starts. Place looks NICE.

Also, messed around with the SPD pedals and Hellcat’s that came in, Kestrels for sure going back. Anyways, I cranked them SPD pedals all the way down “-“ and well we will see how that does with turning my hips for upcoming corners and slowly adjust one click positive “+” from there until it feels right.

    Ultimately very nervous.

Fore/aft wiggle at the front tire is totally normal. Weirded me out to the first time I noticed it. Totally fine though, no issue with the bikes themselves.

There should be no wiggle with the 1up. Check to make sure that the ball expander in the hitch is tight (while you're at it, check every bolt on the rack as well). On a couple of 1ups, I've had the ball expander loosen up over time and the rack begins backing out of the hitch (I use a steel cable instead of the velcro strap to make sure the rack does not fall out of the hitch).

good advice, I had mine loosen once in the 6 yrs I’ve been using. Was a day with a crazy drastic temp swing so I chalk it up to different rates of expansion/contraction bw steel hitch and aluminum rack. I use a bike U-lock as a secondary retention method and another layer of security.

The rack is solid, it’s the bike on the rack that isn’t as solid as I thought it would be. @abacall and @backcountryj have given me some peace of mind!

After 5-1/2 years with our 1Up I’d say the wheels wiggle, especially the front fork wobbling, but nothing’s ever come loose, even with a flat tire. Tens of thousands of miles, and a lot of washboard. 2 bike Super Duty.

    Merry Christmas you filthy animals!

Also can someone post a quick vid and share with us on this wheel wiggle you’re talking about with the 1up racks?

I will next time I put it on. I have to take the rack off when I’m not using it because the tire on my rear door is a 37 and it’s hits the rack. Can’t open the back door more than a couple of inches with the rack on.

Got some Handup AT pants for Christmas. They’re comfy as hell. Will report back after I get a chance to ride in them. But they fit my thunder thighs so that’s a good sign.

My first real injury on the MTB, I was going around a turn, if you let me lie about it I’m gonna say haulin’ haha, anyways I did slide a good ways, never let go of the bars, guess I was hoping the tire would grab and well my finger slid on the ground.

I got up, moved bike off trail, moved me off trail, took two photos. Sat down and YouTubed how to relocate dislocated knuckle. While video was playing I guess with all the pain I passed out slightly, and what’s funny is I was like you’ve gotta be kidding me as I just laid down on my side. Came to and reset the video to try and watch again and tried pulling on my finger, btw… that’s hard AF to reset your own finger. Anyways brother comes up on me about 10 mins later. He said my color is leaving and I look flush. Well I lay back take another little nap and he’s got my hand and resets it and massages it in. Thank goodness I’m asleep, he said all I said was “uhhh” and that’s it. Came to and start wiggling that thing and rode 4 miles back to the truck on the trails.

CUSTOM LICENSE DECAL FOR BIKE HITCH RACKS

Did you know you could get pulled over if your bike rack covers your license plate? Happened to me and a few of my riding buddies.

These decals are die cut from yellow reflective vinyl based off the height of your bike tray.

Please DM me if you're interested in picking one up and include the following:
    -State/License number
-Height of your bike tray. I will subtract .25" from the top and bottom for a polished look. For example if your tray is 2" high, your decal height will be 1.5"
    -Shipping address
    -PayPal address

    $17 shipping included.
-Add an additional decal incase you mess up for $8

Has Monterey not been getting pounded with rain the same as the bay area?

Yes it has. But Fort Ord is mostly sand and drains well. It is actually only fun to ride when it is wet (or if you're on a fat bike).
