The truck's suspension is almost as good as the bike's suspension now. Almost...

Hi all! Just picked up this used 2018 enduro! I realized my rear hub is silent should I be worry ? Is it broken? I know they make silent hubs . Kinda lost! I miss the ticking sounds!

That was a fast turn around. Looks like you decided against Fox.
If the pawls are engaging when you pedal and are propelling the bike forward then I’d say nothing is broken.

If there’s no engagement then yea, you’ve got issues.

Assuming the hub is working normally, then it's probably too much grease in the freehub/driver. Nothing to worry about, it will get noisier over time. If you want it louder take it apart and wipe off any extra grease oil in the gear ring/pawls. FYI- A lot of people pay good money for a quiet freehub :D

Yes, went with the Kings with adjusters (with Icon UCAs and AAL). If I get Fox, it will probably be on the GA truck. That truck is almost at 100k miles so it maybe the next project.

Looking good. Was that route per accutunes suggestions/recommendations?

I actually just went with the stock Tacoma tune. I'll get it tuned once I start adding weight and figuring out what the road to the fishing spots in the Sierras look like.

Makes sense. I was actually more curious why you went King vs Fox. Seemed like you were leaning Fox initially.

Kings have the win in the aesthetics book to me. But my interpretation of the Accutune comparison leaves me thinking Fox to be a better built product overall.

Not at all intending to discredit your choice. I hold your opinion on bike products in high regard. I’d naturally have to parley that over to automutive products as well.

Those are Specialized's lower end hubs, which don't use quite as nice of internals as your "higher end" hubs that will typically make a more consistent and louder (to varying degrees) freewheeling noise, though the basic function is the same. To everyone else's point, as long as they engage like they're supposed to and it freewheels smooth, I wouldn't worry about it.

If I recall correctly (I've had the same hubs before) they only have 18 POE, so I wouldn't be surprised if one of your first upgrades was a nicer rear hub, since the rest of the build looks plenty nice and solid!

I actually agree that Fox uses better materials in their manufacturing process. And I'm a big fan of their DSC system which is basically like my 36 RC2 (without the rebound adjustments). I decided to go with King because I knew that my GA truck will more than likely get Fox DSC's so I wanted to have both. My GA truck carries more weight with the roof rack, awning, swing away hitch, etc... so I thought it was a better use case for HSC and LSC adjustments.

Weird question but have any of you ever been in charge of collecting donations for someone? What’s the best route to go?

    bank account?

want to avoid any major tax issues or fees. I know gofundme takes a cut so would like to avoid that.

sorry I know it’s super off topic but I don’t wanna go get involved in another thread. PM me if we wanna keep it out of here.

    thanks friends.

Is this for your local club or something else?

My local club went 501c3. For smaller projects for a different club we use gofundme.

If it's a small one time type fundraiser, gofundme makes it so easy to "host" a collection that the fee can be worth the time you save managing it.

But if you're talking more long term or multiple fundraiser efforts, a 501c3 with a separate bank account in it's own name is def a better option. If you ever are in the position to take municipal funding for trail projects, etc, this is often a requirement (or a similar arrangement) as well.

It’s not bike related at all is why I say super off topic.

To be completely open, my mom was diagnosed with dementia a few days ago, and we have people asking if they can donate to a support fund or something for her. Just never done anything like this and trying to see all options. I assumed y’all had some experience with collecting donations at least.

last time i had to take donations was for a work thing, so all cash stayed at my office. there was a giving program setup before i started and that was kind of the umbrella that took care of taxes. myself and other collected cash on site, then deposited it into the person's account that was in charge of the giving program, then gave the check to the 501c we were donating too. that was all recorded in some donation tracking system already setup.

this doesn't sound like what you're going to do though.

sorry about your mom's health issues
