Great photos. Is that an Evil you're riding? How do you like it?

Yes- that one is an Insurgent. 7 years old but still good. Evils are not the lightest bikes out there but they climb and handle well for a single pivot design.

I got to demo a Wreckoning for a weekend. Was a fun bike, but way too much for my everyday riding.

Never outgunned is the American way! In all seriousness, I ride a Calling as well (130mm with a 150mm fork), that and the the Following might be a better bet if you feel like the Wreck was too big. In Boise, I ride a Calling since we have mostly XC trails with the occasional chunk.

Cool self shot photo. Big Creek is a neat place - they've maximized their space and elevation

Every time I go to Big Creek intending to do an XC ride, I end up at the Freeride area and never leave.

Yep. Jarrod's Place is going to be a great addition for you Georgia guys, last I heard it will officially open in the next few months. Those guys building it are great riders so it will be hard but great for rider progression throughout the Atlanta metro area. Similar to Windrock for the East Tennessee guys

I ended up going with the new Switchblade, put a coil shock on the rear and its the perfect bike for the high desert riding around me and occasional Deer Valley/Grand Targhee trips.

I was just curious to know what the general consensus was, I have always loved riding 29ers, always owned GS for the most part. I ended up pulling the trigger over the weekend and snagged a large SC chameleon in royal blue. I read lots of reviews and did my homework. Figured I would get one now since bikes too are harder to find these days.

Such a fun race! What category did you guys sign up for? I've only raced it once, in 2020 when it was in the fall.
