E-bikes are hella fun! If someone gave me the option to go Moab or anywhere, and have 3 days of riding under my own power and ride 4-5 trails vs an e-bike and riding 8-10 trails? No brainer I'll take the e-bike. Only issue is some trails don't allow e-bikes which I get, but in due time. so if you can have both with you on a road trip that would be ideal. But I don't have one. Yet.

Any of you have experience with Fezzari? I am on a Stumpjumper alloy at the moment and it is pretty adequate for what I ride, but that Fezzari Delano is right where I am looking to be - has 150mm front and 140mm rear, carbon, and decently specked components. Could potentially get to a 160mm front from them, but while I like enduro riding, its not something I do every day.

This the new C1 air spring? I'm riding a 21 pike that came with the new spring and out of the box it felt quite harsh on the hands. After some neg volume tinkering I got it dialed in but out of the box I thought it was a downgrade from the previous B1 spring.

Now you need a Charger 2.1 cartridge, unless you're like sub 140lbs you will find it hard tune that bottom out with the regular Charger which has an extremely light tune. Oh yea and the SKF seals are a must, the RS seals are hot draggy garbage.

IMO not the prettiest bikes on the mountain but they offer a good value and have good geo. The $4500 price point has better parts than you would get on a 6k from from any of the more boutique brands. You will be very happy with a 150/140 setup, and it will still pedal just fine.

So my Dakine Hotlaps 5l has been messed up for a year now with the mouthpiece having a slit in it as well as breaking the magnet and I finally reached out to Dakine about it and they sent me a coupon worth $80 and free shipping. So I chose the 5L pack on sale as well as the mouthpiece. That's crazy to me, but awesome!

The pack was broken completely my fault when I went OTB, landed on the pack saving my back on rocks, but broke magnet and caused a slow leak from mouthpiece. Which I told them in initial email.
Code was one time use only.. sorry guys.

Wow. That thought never even crossed my mind :anonymous:

I probably would have had to bend it a little bit to clear the fork, but that would have saved my walk of shame off the trail!

Usually our local craigslist is full of bicycles for sale, but with the current price of gasoline over five dollars and diesel over six dollars, they have all but disappeared.

The price of parts has skyrocketed and availability is limited. The cheapest Chinese innertubes are going for $10.

Several shops are completely out of all the popular sizes.

i’ve been trying to buy a fat bike wheel and tire that I can lace on to my hub and I have had zero availability. I’m considering buying an entire bicycle just to get the wheels and tires.

In fact I did just that, bought the worlds cheapest Chinese Schwinn (lightly) used because it was very clean, had very nice wheels, tires, trims seat, OK bars and frame. The derailleurs are garbage. Pedals are plastic.
1115C26C-CEC1-40BF-ACF1-E788352AAFC5.jpg The wheels are aluminum and they’re going to go on my wife’s Nishiki which has chrome wheels with some rusty spokes.

The seat, tires and tubes will go in my shed for possible future use or resale.
The straight style handlebar and seat post and a few little bits will be saved for another bike I’m working on.

The front center-pull brake was better than the one on my Manhattan (which had been smashed) and so I switched that onto my bike.
    A9F6FE09-7D3F-4E54-8DB6-FB3C72AFBBE7.jpg
My brake lever was smashed as well so I re-purposed the fake Shimano multipurpose lever into a single purpose lever.

    before:

    after:
    AFFA1A9E-DC39-459B-94B8-8EEBE441A249.jpg
These bikes had a different neck post set, which means that the cable bracket isn’t perfect, but it worked after I inverted it.

Anyhow I’m really starting to like this bike, BUT because the blue frame is a little bit longer and a little bit taller I think it will fit me better. Unless I hear something about these frames falling apart, the blue paint is still beautiful.

I will end up converting all my gear over to the blue frame. Here’s a better picture of the black bike before I put the brake on it.

I switched back to flats a few years ago. Definitely took some time to re-adjust to them. Glad I took the time though as I enjoy them more overall now. Spent a bit of time back on clipless last year but ended up back on flats. I'd potentially consider running clipless for specific XC distance kinda rides but that's about it.

Mine is a 21 Pike Select. Based on the website I would assume it should have the new Debonair spring, but when I pulled it apart the bottom nut was not red. The new C1 I installed felt good. My last fork 2018 Pike something had the same damper as this one I think and I didn't have problems with bottom out on that. Hadn't noticed an issue with this one at 140 either. I'll keep that in mind though if I can't get it dialed.

Also what negative volume tinkering did you do?

GRNTACO you on here? It was opening weekend at Powder Ridge Bike Park here in CT. Came back to my truck to see this nice sight right next to me.

I only smacked two trees and progressed a whole lot on my first day at a bike park. It was a blast and I'm planning on going back in the coming weeks.

Mine was a Select as well but had the C1 140mm shaft from the factory, I just bumped it to a 150mm shaft. If you're not sending bigger jumps and drops you can do ok on the regular charger. The 2.1 is notably more controlled and refined feeling. Regarding the neg chamber I changed the volume by removing the the top out bumper for some O rings. It sits at 155mm now and feels absolutely dialed. It has the B1 off the top plushness with the C1 mid support and ride height. It doesn't top out clunk at all, and has very little travel suck. (well known b1 spring issue) It was kind of a gamble but can't argue with the result.

Never got to ride Powder Ridge before I moved out west. I did get to help them build a couple jumps for a BMX jam they did a few years back.
I also did get to sneak in once on my BMX bike a long time ago before the current owners reopened and rode the snake run. It was rough but super fun. I want to try to get a session in next time I’m out there visiting family.
