wanted to share these, pics of how most of us got around base when I was deployed. lots of shit, rust buckets , and the PX was selling these cheap ass mongoose fatbikes, some backshops dudes even made custom brackets for their m4 rifles to mount on the bike, kinda like a "mini" rack. When I was there it snowed for the first time in a LONG time, the mud is the worse, clay shit ever and it smelled like piss and alkaline. I got yelled at because i never wore a helmet, so as a protest in my own way, I made this shitty "predator" style helmet and even gave it a custom paintjob, (the 82nd airborne doods with camo nets on their ech gave me inspiration) everyone always rubbed necked when I passed by, I know the helmet was silly, it was on purpose and well executed. 20200123_145833 - Copy.jpg 20200126_162326.jpg iraq bikes lol.jpg 20200107_170724.jpg 20200107_170717.jpg
there was this cpl who made this bench where I set the fatbike next to, we made it east la style.

In New England, it’s a level 10 swamp ass and ball sticking day. I went for a ride anyways and wore the Halo head band, what a difference! Never had sweat in my eyes and I looked like I jumped in a pool when I was done. Thanks for the suggestion

Well, I kicked my rear enough that I'm ashamed. 20.2 mile ride. 18 miles was gravel. only managed 10.7 MPH average speed. Race is in a month, half of it is paved and most of the rest is gravel. good thing I'm just doing it for the heck of it and not trying to be good LOL.

I was talking with a sales rep at Fry Steel and somehow got to talking about mountain biking. She recommended to see a docu film on Netflix. She said she’s not a mountain biker but really enjoyed watching the film. The film is Accomplice by TGR. Just saw it last night and it was a great film! Very creative cinematography, wonderful stories and very daring feats! Go check it out if you can.

New Rakattach is sweet. It’s paired with a Kuat. Probably should have gone all 1up but I got a deal on the Kuat

went on my first overnight bike camping trip to test the new gear. Kept it close to home, but was still super fun. The destination was only about 5 miles but I turned it into an 18 mile ride taking mostly fire roads, single track and double track. I quickly learned how much the added weight of camping gear effects the handling. Can’t wait to get out on some longer trips.

Anybody have recommendations for hitch mounted carrier capable of handling descent off roading? Bonus for higher clearance? :fingerscrossed:
