and they would be excellent margins, I'm sure, but I suspect they've blown it all on erm... brand recognition efforts (as @honda50r illuminated for the group)...

Mid thirties I think? Old by elite athlete standards, unless you're Greg Minnaar

Hmm, if you're talking the side to side gouges I'm clueless. If you're referring to the wear, possibly the dropper cable...maybe? IDK. Only if your cable routes that way and your bike bobs while pedaling, could just rub that spot on each revolution...? Sounds stupid now that I typed it but "thats my story and I'm sticking to it".:)

Was the bike acting or feeling weird or was it just routine maintenance and you noticed the wear spot?

not sure if you were referring to the kinda white spot. Hard to tell if that's just grease or rubbed through the finish.

    No doubt.

I follow the owner on instagram @ tacodust, and he has lots and lots of toys....

That video makes it seem like they're marketing that rack to the individual who wants to carry their mtb on the back of they're trophy truck and hit barstow main on the way to the trailhead :bikewhoops:

Figured the gouges and the wear were somehow related, but maybe not.

Nothing acting weird, just pulled it as I was cleaning and servicing the drivetrain.

It's a shiny silver spot where the finish it rubbed through.

Probably a dumb question but could it be a dropper cable or something rubbing?

I've had the covid for the last week and its sucked, especially a week before a race. Oh well.

Can you see any low hanging cables when looking through the bottom bracket area? For it to only be in that one area, I'd be inclined to think that if you transport the bike (put it on a bike rack), the pedals would have to be similarly aligned and a cable could have a little wiggle room to constantly rub on it while the bike is stationary during transporting.

Edit: My thought doesn't seem to make much sense the more I think about it as the bottom bracket shell would protect that portion of the crank spindle from rubbing on any cables. Maybe the bottom bracket is slightly out of round in that area or there is something stuck in the BB shell right there that caused a rub?

Looks similar to coyote as well, although similar diets generate similar results. I guess there's a size component that the pic is lacking in context.

Yeah, true. No coyotes on Vancouver Island, but we’ve got wolves. Haven’t heard of them being around here before - usually more remote areas. This was 5 mins from a subdivision.

    Yeah, there's wildlife all over.

Here in Salt Lake, we get mountain lions wandering all over hillside neighborhoods after dark that get caught on ring cams, etc. Every once in a while, a nighttime rider catches a fleeting glance of one. Really gets the imagination going as you are huffing and puffing up the hill, sounding like prey

Cougars and black bears in my neighborhood are pretty common. First time for wolves. Pretty cool. My Westie doesn’t join me in the woods.

Last Thursday we hit up Sawpi Bike Park... a little bit of a change on the pace and gives everyone a chance to bring the kids and significant others out. had the grill going with al pastor, chicken, carne asada taco..... probably cooked up 10 lbs of meat. Good times were had by all..

speaking of no animals in a certain area, there was a bear in my backyard this morning after i got to work. wasnt a surprise when I lived at the base of Pikes Peak in Manitou, but being so close to down town Colorado Springs, it is unexpected.
