Thanks buddy! I'm good, had spares. New SLX derailleur, and previous WolfTooth ring.
Suuuucks. Seen a couple bikes get taken out, but the worst is when it shoots up and smashes my shins.

just buy a 12 inch bmx bike; then remove the cranks and leave the hand brake. *instant balance bike" no need to spend that on a balance bike, unless you want it as wall art.

You mean like the wolf tooth camo ring?
I thought about getting one of those instead of a bash guard.

Also, if you don’t want to bend a chainring wolf tooth does make a stainless steel one as well.

I ordered some materials to make a bash guard out of Kydex. Watched a YouTube video so, naturally, I'm an expert. Anyone ever done it? I have put a couple small dents in the bottom of the down tube already, at least this will give some protection from the smaller hits.

I made one for an old Tallboy, but never used it. It molds pretty quick/easy.

    Blasphemy!

No true Schwinn was ever sold at a Walmart.

You can get these used Chinese Walmart bikes that say Schwinn on them all day long for pennies, because the gear on them is all crap.

I do not think there has been a real Schwinn manufactured since Walmart started up in the 90s, because Chicago Schwinn closed business in the 80s.

I do not think you can buy a poorer made bicycle.

I stand corrected. I own a Chinese made Huffy and it is worse. Not substantially different, but slightly worse in every way.

as soon as my son saw neighbor kids riding pedal bikes, he did not need to ask me to get him a pedal bike, he simply asked me to install his pedals.

lol the hulk hands definitely cut down on vibration, but don't do much for rear brake control.

This is just a mock up. Once I get everything set I will scrape the paint down to bare steel & clearcoat it.
