It could have been ripcords design minus the sleeping platform. A local TW member built one using ripcords plans and it came out super nice.

I was in the same boat, and I think complete bikes and frames are excluded from AJ cash back.
If I were in the market this would be a top contender. Price is on spec with comparable options. I’d be curious to know what the freight charges might rack up to be for the East Coast.
You said it. I’d like a bed stretcher from time to time.

I know my stache barely fit and my gravel bike also doesn't fit since the bars extend over the front axle...and it won't be fitting anymore because the last time I tried I shattered the rear window going down i95. I'm not even going to try fitting my ripley in the back.

Definitely possible. The top looks almost exactly the same as the GFC topper which is what threw me off. VERY professional look if it was DIY. I would love to eventually make one but...I have other priorities. lol.

My initial feeling is I don't think 46% markup is terrible given the commodity. While exceptions exist, how often is the average person buying a new bike? The mark-up has to float a P&L across multiple years between purchase points for a repeat customer.

Backcountry could prob absorb it, but the small LBS that has to follow the same MAP pricing prob can't.

Brought the bike in to my LBS for a BB replacement thinking it was the culprit for a gnarly creak I've been suffering through all year. Turns out 5 out of 6 of the aluminum pawls on the Hydra rear hub had a crap-ton of lateral play. That sweet two-year i9 warranty had it covered. Surprised to see so much play on a hub with 1500 miles.

I did ask them about the spokes and they have a tool that holds the spoke while you turn the nipple.

It’s just weird that it’s manufactured differently than mine.

The spokes on the Enduro S differ more than in just being steel vs aluminum spokes used on the Enduro 305s. The steel ones are straight pull, but with a butt end similar to a J-bend spoke whereas the aluminum 305 spokes thread into the hub body.

Based on the pics you both shared I’m guessing you have 305s.

I have the 305s and you are correct mine spokes thread into the hub. @neatoneto do something different? I think.

Well, took a token out of 36 and added pressure so it stays in the supple more. It’s nice still working on it. I used all, but maybe 15-20mm of travel.

Seat in the far back position felt great. First ride in a long time I didn’t have tingles in right hand pinky finger, and no tingles in left foot toes. Also no saddle soreness at all and not foot hotspots. I was in love with the bike all over again tonight.

Plus I’ve lowered the stem on by 1 10mm spacer to get some more weight in front and yet again. Great. *chefs kiss*

Enduro S Hydra's like @backcountryj said which has the cheaper steel spokes so different design. Who knew. This tool is along the lines of what the shop had.

Surely not. Industry folks may be able and chime in but typically LBS hover around 30% margins

    30% is the average.
Worked for a shop for a while and ordered a bunch of bikes for them, from all-out builds to budget, CX, MTB, road, cruisers, city, custom, cargo, whatever... From big brands like Giant, to smaller like Devinci and Rodeo Labs.
A few things go in to markup, but the most important are pricing structure (the more your order, the cheaper they get), required labor to build (some are more assembled than others), and build level (lower level have lower markup), and shipping costs.
The smaller brands have a shorter pricing structure curve, and require more work to build, therefor have lower profit margins for the LBS.
Bigger brands like Giant cost less to ship, are almost fully assembled when they arrive, and have a better pricing structure across their whole brand (including accessories, which are a crap-ton).
Some, like Spec and Trek, have minimum requirements that need to be meet, like carrying their brands only or ordering a certain quantity, or carrying their accessories, etc.
Those blow-out deals typically happen when shit sits for too long, and they need to make room. They can sell at a partial loss, if the new inventory is expected to sell fast enough to recoup that loss.
The LBS doesn't make a lot of $$ of selling bikes, they make $$ on service and accessories. Their whole bread-and-butter is customer relationships, keeping you coming back for those extras, replacement parts, and fixing the bike.

I was given the opportunity to attend a disabled veterans adaptive bike clinic, got to ride some cool adaptive bikes with other vets on trails at sky tavern. My service dog came with me and she ran along side of me on the trails. What a blast!

    Everyone needs an Arrival.
Also it kinda reminds me of this Commencal if shock was vertical.
