First ride on my Trance X.

It's great, and makes me wish I had made the jump to an XL with more aggressive geo long before now.

 

Very nice! As I posted earlier in this thread, loved my Trance X. It was so good.

 

It's surprisingly agile for a pretty large bike. Super happy with the upgrade!

 

Yeah it is. Climbs really well for what it is too.
I have a new Trek Fuel EX now which is nearly the same geometry and feel. The way the rear shock is designed is super efficient.

welp my 12 hours in canon city got cancelled due to rain. 2 inches last night with no signs of stopping makes muddy trails we aren't allowed to ride

 

Really! Rain??? I guess that’s where all the wind is coming from in Central NM - windy as all get out yesterday and today. But nothing in the moisture department.

But that sucks! Sorry to hear it was rained out. You could look at the Albuquerque MTB Dirt Fest - it’s not the Royal Gorge, but it’s fun. I can’t do this race this year, but am looking at going to Ruidoso for the 45 mile MTB endurance race in October.

 

I was looking at some of the other zia rides races. i'll keep them in mind but my summer calendar is pretty full and think i would rather do some longer descents when higher up is clear than some lower 12 hours.

 

@barelfly have you looked at the local AMBA enduro races? Fun local community events. I managed to snag the almost best number plate. And get not bottom ten, which I'll take.

@abacall Didn't you say something about Dissector's once?

 

I’ve followed the races the last few weeks. I just haven’t been on the MTB until this week with my thumb incident from Christmas. But, I did just sign up for AMBA ride notices, and with the wind this Saturday, was thinking of MTB somewhere up in the east mountains. Looks like those Enduro rides were great stuff!

Did you enjoy the event?

 

First time I've seen this guy in an actual Costco and not just online. The NX group doesn't impress but otherwise a nice looking bike. Most stores eventually drop the price to move stuff out. I wonder how low they will go on these?

Currently loving the Conti Kryptotal rears.

 

Man, I loved the dissector here in the PNW, it didn't last long at all..... 6-7 rides in and the side knobs were failing. I ran it on my trail bike, and downhill bike. Now I run the Ass Roller combo and it's pretty legit.

 

Going biking today at Raging River around 3:30 if any locals want to join.

 

@whitedlite You always seem to be in the market for all things haha.

$2500 is as low as the XC has ever gone. So probably comparable.

At $2500 those bikes can't be beat currently.

 

COMBA announced who won the Orbea bike yesterday. At least I know local people are winning, makes me feel better about entering these raffle things.

 

I just bought one as well. 2022 Giant Trance X 29 1. I had initially ordered the Trance (Non-X) but thought the X might be the better buy.

So far I'm enjoying it. Definitely worthy of the upgrade from my old Hardtail. Enjoy!

About a month ago I bought a pair MTB for my son and I at Dicks Sporting Goods. They are both GT Aggressor Pros bottom of the barrel but hey only $350 each and they are doing their job of getting us outside and riding.
We are now seeing and lusting at stuff I had no idea that existed!!!

Hydraulic breaks, dropper posts, 9 speed vs our 3x8 , wider handle bars!!!

As we build up our strength and confidence, I promised him we will get a pair of nicer bikes.

Daddy needs to work some more overtime!
