Yeah I did. I still have it... trying to sell it. You interested? Lol.
It’s gonna be packed at Trestle. But I’m too anxious to ride, can’t wait any longer.

@Gunshot-6A I would forego both those options and see if you can find a honzo. Tat aluminum one I built up with your dropper is just as light as the carbon xc bike i scavenged parts from. Plus, it handles so much better even with some 2.1 tires on it. Best of everything

I looked. Konas just aren't super popular or easy to find in UT. Everyone here goes Big S, Giant or SC it seems. All the konas we do have are process 153s. We have a freakish amount of Kona Stinkys for sale though.

Those lefty's are actually really fun to ride. And as a commuter you might like having clipless... Seems like you cant go wrong either way. This is my commuter an old ass Giant XTC the first bike I ever did frame up build on. Sorry for the awkward picture only pic I have of the bike. My friend that owns the local shop was doing a promotion of walking your bike to work... :notsure:

Yeah, as a commuter / XC hardtail, I really could see benefits having clipless pedals. Plus, I have a penchant for odd bikes, like my fatty, so the lefty fits that vibe pretty well. I'm gonna keep looking for a while.

Pretty tame, very commercial/ad heavy. I have zero intent in modding my wife’s Crosstrek as it’s only a place keeper until we step into a 3rd row rig (kids, dogs, etc.). So I haven’t looked for anything on par with TW in the Crosstrek community.

I agree on the SGB tech. I built up a new patrol and unfortunately broke my collarbone first ride. Now I’m broke, and broke, and need to sell it haha. Anyone interested let me know! 2018 transition patrol size M, custom build with hope, shimano XT/XTR/Saint, rockshox rct3 fork and more :). Let me know!

So I think I want to switch to a 1x10 or a 1x11. I guess it’s just laziness. I’d rather just do all my shifting in the rear.

So that said, I’m on a Rockhopper 29er. Any recommendations for the cassette? What size and how many teeth, etc?? Thanks.

What brand and gearing are you on now? Lots of good options are available. Shimano, Sram, and Sunrace all have good offerings in the 10-11 to 42-50ish tooth range.

I totally am a fan of 1x drivetrains, although a 2x for enduro type racing would be kinda nice. Climb up the steeps in the little ring, bomb down the stages in the big ring!

What are your front ring sizes? and which ones do you really use? That will be a good starting point.

42/32/22T. I use the large one pretty much exclusively.
