Pedals are back on with a reinforced rear suspension for added stability. lol
Used the bracket from 2 sets of training wheels. One wouldn't hold.

What is the preferred tension on chain at bottom out? Maybe a half inch of play?

Take all the air out of the shock and bottom the rear suspension out (or completely remove the shock). The derailleur should still have a little bit of rotation available at total bottom out (which includes compressing the bottom out bumper). If you don't have enough chain, either the chain will break or the derailleur hanger will snap at bottom out.

So now I’m almost at a loss. Went to a different park yesterday on MulletJumper fully expecting to put the nail in the coffin - and I had a blast. The trail system is the one I prefer, has a lot more jumps/drops tighter trails - all things that might benefit the mullet. Whereas the trails I kept riding before was more straight meandering trails without many features. Right now I’m going to stick with the mullet and see how I gel with it. I am also bike curious because even though it’s got a mullet link - I think the rear end could benefit if it was truly setup for a 650b rear with shorter stays.

Photos always get flattened, but flat Florida still has plenty of features to have fun on. Even if I'm dying to leave the state.

I got out yesterday morning. Started my ride at 78° and ended at 89°, it hit 98° later in the day. I successfully beat the heat and with overcast skies made those temps seem even lower. Love week day rides with only yourself and serenity.

The above photos are all of same feature I call “The Spine”. I was trying to show what it looks like from going up and coming down. There’s three ways of riding it coming down. You can ride the top of the spine the whole way, or you can opt to ignore the spine and go off the ledge drop to the left, or you can ride the spine half way then cut off to the left off of the spine for the drop. I seem to do the latter of the three more often. I need to stop and session it some time. I tend to just be on my flow coming down and boogie right on through it with no game plan of riding it any of the three ways. How it happens it happens.

Where are you running the front? May have asked before, I'm running mine in neutral and thinking about putting it to the steep setting for the trail riding I do.

Mines in steep at the moment. Didn't want to go out of town with the neutral cups and have to swap them out if I wanted slacker and remember to pack the offset cups.

This is what I was talking about with the mullet link and its being a band aid. You can see the wheel *could* go forward and shorten the chain stay. Not everyone likes short chainstays though.

She's my only ride at the moment, but takin it easy until the new ride is here. Will miss this steed, she pedaled great above 11,000ft and a blast down.

What size frame you on? A buddy of mine has swapped the CS on his XL to a smaller size but I could see going longer on a smaller frame with a 27.5 rear wheel. I'd personally like it in the 440-445 range for S4.

I'm on an S4. I think its more preference for short stays and looking down and seeing a big tire gap. Heres the 29er setup for reference, not sure what sizes they are using for screenshots.

That's a great bike and I'd totally be interested if I rode more park or didn't have so many bikes. GLWS

So at full bottom out I move the chain about an inch of play and the derailleur moves maybe .2 inch. Chain doesn’t seem abnormally tight. Maybe these orbea hangars just suck/ I got a bad batch?
