Sooo long! But it’s been worth it so far. REI had it at my local garage sale marked down from $1000 to $600, so it was a no brainer. Before I had my cap, i love the Dakine Tailgate pad because I would 5 and a 6th in the bed, but I really can’t complain with still being able to transport 4 easily!!

Oh man, I've heard great things and this is a great deal at $50. They even have a pair in my size but they are neon yellow; I'm not sure I can rock those. I guess I could sharpie them or something...

Lol. yeah, that neon yellow is pretty in your face isn't it? hah! Usually, the color doesn't matter THAT much to me. but man that neon is very....in your face.

but hey, maybe it's a way to get all y'all's partners new shoes!

It's so bright that it seems like it'd be distracting! I did forward the women's version to my wife as they have her size in both colors.

I bought a pair last year for the same discounted price. Apparently not a popular color for full price but I jumped on them for 50.00. I use them for our Urban/gravel rides, figured it may help peeps see me better...

    Love the rig!
And your bike is great. 2.6 tires? 140mm travel? I don’t see many fatter tires with cross country tread.

    Thanks, I miss both.

The tires were 3” wide, and it was a 110mm travel fork.

What model of the RCs do people like? I've never really looked at them in person.

i'm on the livewire's. but the previosu version so it has the d30 and everything. i think the new ones don't have it, at least it doesn't say it does. I also have the newer accomplice (because i once forgot my shoes and had to buy some real quickly adn that was the only one the nearest bike shop had in my size). accomplice feels nice but less stiff around my foot. but infinitely more comfortable and easier to walk around town in.

i've considered trying the helion's but haven't had any need to try it just yet.

Thanks for the link! Picked up the TGR Livewire’s in grey as they were one of the least flashy. Figured for $55 I’d give them a shot.

Tried the Tallac Boa, it's ok. Not the same grip as 5.10 stealth, but much more durable and was comfortable. I'd avoid the BOA next time though, doesn't work well with mud and fine dirt as it tends to get in the loops and not allow the laces to evenly tighten.

a few other people ive talked to that have RC say they feel boxy and less like a sneaker.

im on the fence with that. im not a fan of the fit, but i bash and scrape my feet on rocks and stuff all the time. the shoes have held up for sure.

i have to ask myself if they get scraped because theyre boxy or if they hold up to the scrapes because theyre boxy

well looks like I won't be taking my bike to oregon in a couple weeks :( the shell i ordered won't be here in time so no room for my bike.

i'll have to rent a bike in bend. there are some good quality options. ill ride around phils a bit while im there.

im also wanting to rent a bike in either oakridge, ashland, or south in mt shasta. anyone have any recommendations on any of these 3 places?

oakridge has some good rentals, trails, and a shuttle. im really leaning towards this based on last time i asked for recommendations. my concern is there seems to be a fire near there right now. fingers crossed it gets contained, but you never know.

i haven't looked too deep into ashland or shasta though.
