Livewires. I def feel vs the freerider, the soles grip dirt better on hike-a-bike sections. They are slimmer and feel they fit snugger than my old freeriders as well but do somehow also feel a little boxier/clunkier. Soles grip like a hot damn though.

For bikes... Oakridge > Ashland > Shasta

In terms of general scenery, hiking, breweries, and other things to do, I'd probably flip the order though

I've submitted a warranty claim; hopefully Evil treats me right cause I really love the bike.

Thanks. I think I'll write Shasta off. I'm looking at an Airbnb in hornbook CA and it's not too far from Ashland. I may do that if Oakridge is a no go.

oh man!!! hopefully they do take care of you! Crash replacement for my rear triangle was fairly reasonable though. :/

Evil resolved my warranty claim in less than a day. New front triangle is being shipped tomorrow, free of charge. Amazing customer service.

I guess I'll view it as a chance to clean and rebuild the bike from the frame up before desert season.

Hell, yes! Way to go Evil. Do you have to ship the old one, or can you keep it?

I'm betting cut it in half with video proof.

Or send it in, no way they let it stay "rideable".

They asked me to put the old triangle in the box and ship it back to them. They're including a shipping label though, so no cost to me other than whatever I spend to rebuild my frame.

On that note... I plan to clean and re-grease all bearings, run new derailleur cable/housing but was debating if there's any need to run new brake cables. I've had no issues with the brakes and figured I'd just bleed them, but wondering if anyone has opinions on the value of running new brake lines. Worth it?

not to my understanding. if your brakes are working fine, no need to worry about new lines. unless the hose is screwed.

Curious in differences in the Livewire vs the Hellion Elite. I have been planning to replace my old leather Freeriders with Freerider Pros. Any comparisons with any of these would be great.

OK, another question for the group (especially evil owners). Since I have to take the bike completely apart, do I buy replacement bearings and pivot assembly parts? I'll definitely check everything over and replace parts that are worn but it's only been a year since I bought the bike. Do any Evil owners know how long these parts tend to last before needing replacement? Should I just do it since I have everything taken apart or just plan on a thorough inspection, clean, and re-grease?

I just received my Livewire’s. Haven’t biked in them yet so these are just initial impressions.

The Freerider Pro is a very stiff/rigid shoe. Both the sole and the upper. Zero foot fatigue. I like the stiffness on the bike, but don’t enjoy wearing them off the bike. Durability has been excellent. No tears in the uppers, no soles delaminating. Sole is finally starting to lose its texture after a couple of years, but still grips well. Hands down my favorite flat pedal shoe to this point.

The Livewire’s seem like a cross between the OG Freeriders and the Pro’s. Look more like the Pro’s, but have the sole feel of the OG’s. The Livewire’s are more plush than both the OG’s and the Pro’s. They are very comfy! Sole of the Livewire is much stickier than the 5.10’s. Walking on the sidewalk you could hear, and feel, the stickiness of the sole. Supposed to cool down here this weekend, so hopefully I can get out and ride with them. Aesthetically, I like what I see with the RC’s.

I’ve read/heard the RC’s run small so I ordered a half size up and they fit perfectly.

Edit: I currently own a pair of all three now. Did a side by side comparison last night and this is what I came up with.

i saw that if you're on the LS or newer bikes, then i think you get free bearing replacement. if not, take a look at your bearings and roll them by hand, see if you feel any problems with it, then replace. if not, no worries about it. i haven't replaced any bearings on mine.

New tacos at Outerbike, will see if I can get a shuttle in one during the show.

    Stock wheels/tires look…. anemic.

A tech was taking the air dam off the front of an orange one, thought it didn't look aggressive enough.

go ahead and order a ridewrap kit and get to it. The bike is perfect to wrap how it’s being shipped to you.
