All Things Bikes and Tacos! (...and every vehicle imaginable)

I’m searching for new headset bearings for my Stumpy. I found them on Cane Creek’s site but only in the 40 series. I messaged them asking if they had them in the 70 series and got a weird response. I got a link for a full headset, no bearing set alone, and they said I’d likely need a shim to run the 70 series bearings. Seems like it’s not the correct overall size if I go with the 70 series since it’d need a shim. Thoughts? What am I missing?

 

You have the angle adjust headset right? Wolf tooth makes replacements.

I didn't realize how much of a PITA those bearings would be to source. I have a call into Specialized, going back to the source. Wolf Tooth doesn't seem to have them in stock. Apparently, it's a Campanolo spec bearing, the 45x45 is a-typical which is why the Cane Creek bearings would require a shim.

 

Nov 3-5 is our Fall Festival - our annual MTB festival with 5+ demo brands, live music all day, and professional rider contests on both pump tracks and jumps. Dylan Stark and Dak Norton showed up last year...Hope you guys can make it! It's a party until the wee morning hours.

Just mounted up some fresh tires for back-to-back cross races this weekend and it is supposed to be wet!
