Never got to ride through yellow Aspens, but did get to hike through some. Riding through them has to be amazing.

It’s not just the beauty of riding through aspens. Have you ever heard the term “quaking aspens”? It’s when there is a breeze and the leaves click together and make a quaking sound. They do it year round but in the fall as the yellow ones are drying out they get louder and louder.

Little bit of this and that
I may be slightly biased as Flag is my hometown, but there isn't much prettier than the San Francisco peaks in the fall.

I couldn't agree more. We go every year, usually to Lockett Meadow side and hike up to waterline through the aspens.

OK, for you mountain aspen and New England fall colors guys, this is what we have to deal with in the lower elevations of California.

For those that don’t recognize it, that’s poison oak, the scourge of trail builders, off-trail crashers, or even just those who pull over and put a foot down off the trail to let a hiker or uphill rider pass.

I don’t want to rain on your parade, but I grew up in PO country and could also roll around in it … until I was in my mid-50’s. Then I got it real bad, from bare winter vines, to the point I had to get an antibiotic injection and steroids. The urgent care doctor said I was just a few hours from needing the ER as the swelling was cutting off circulation and impacting nerves in my arms. Since then I have to be very careful.

Enjoy it! When Caloosahatchee Regional Park is dry it can be a lot of fun.

One last trip to the Idaho mountains mostly to fish, but got some riding in.

Almost ran into a young bull moose on the trail. His much larger mom was 10 yards further down the trail. I did not stop to take a video of mommy moose. They can be a little cranky when the kids are around.

Awesome! My favorite time of year in the high country. Good choice on avoiding mom. A mother moose is the most unpredictable deadly critter out there. Love how you take photos of your catches and share them here.

Thanks! Heading to Alafia next weekend to hit those trails with some friends and then camp in Juniper Springs. I’ve always borrowed a buddy’s bike when we go to Caloosahatchee so now I can finally go whenever I want since I’m only about 20 mins away. A buddy of mine inside my community is a Mudcutter member that’s been working on the trails out there. I’ll be joining them to help too!

Awesome. Yeah I live close to Alafia so that's where I tend to wind up. My parents are in N. Fort Myers so i'll go to CRP when I visit them - depending on if its open.

I don't have much to add here, but I just want to say. Ethirteen gets a picked on a lot, but they've been super duper helpful to me after I bottomed out the M29 hard enough to bend both the bashguard and chainring, answering all questions I've had not being used to their crank system as well asking for photos to help me futher and generally reply in a couple hours.

Intense m29 did get some frame damage, mostly superficial. Casing caused the lower rivet that the screw for the bashguard goes into slightly crooked. Intense offered to sell me a new front triangle for $597.50. Not bad for a bike I bought second hand I guess.

Also, Haye's has been super helpful with questions on Dominions. I have a question, shoot an email and have an asnwer before end of day.
