Yea it’s a tubolito. I can’t tell you the last time I needed a tube, so the minimalist approach works for me.

I rock one of those for emergencies also. They fold down pretty flat and are super light. I'm not sure how long they're supposed to last exposed to UV, dirt and water though, next year I may think about swapping it out.

I have the same thing B-RAD strap but I also have the bag they sell. I should try it without the bag though because it’s a pain to get stuff in/out. I also use tubolitos although I haven’t been bringing it with me on spire rides haha.

crank brothers did just come out with an interesting bottle mount tool set.

Didn't know there was such a thing! I'm in the same boat as you and never need one (knock on wood). I didn't like the big bulky normal tube without a great spot to put it on the Following so I have just been riding without one on my local rides. I throw one on for bigger rides or in rockier zones, but I think something like that would be easier to justify on the frame all the time.

Hello, if I have a tonneau cover with T slot rails along the top sides of the bed is there any way to directly mount bike carrier there without the crossbars?

    Appreciate all the ideas fellas!

I'm also no titanium expert but I've talked about both of these options with some friends that are fabricators and metallurgists. Apparently the best fix is to cut out the top tube and weld in a new one.

I'm still trying to find someone that knows titanium bikes to look at it in person. Every titanium frame builder I've heard back from has said the same thing... "If it were their bike, they'd just ride it as is and keep an eye out for cracks developing."

I was unlucky and my rear brake line was too tight between battery and frame. Needless to say DB8’s are out and Dominion T4’s are in!

A way better for for the Eeeb anyway.
    Nice!

If I'm way more active lately it's because I've been stuck indoors healing...
A month ago I went snowboarding on a big pow day. I sent one of my go-to cliffs and landed weird. Turns out I compressed my L1-S1 vertebrae and my disk impinged my sciatic nerve. This was my second spinal injury in 5 years. I was unable to walk for 3 days, and in excruciating pain for 2 weeks.
Did a bunch of rehab, yoga, massage, and acupuncture and the pain subsided.
Once the pain went away and I started feeling good, at three weeks, I went out for a powder day (with docs approval). Everything was great, and at the end of the day decided to take the skis out. I've been snowboarding for 30 years or so, and I'm learning to ski.
Ate shit... And fooked my knee. :annoyed:
Haven'e been to the doctor yet as it's healing everyday. At this point (10 days) it's just hurting upon full bending.

So, this week I took the Eeb out to see how I was feeling. Goddam it felt so good to get out there after so long. The body felt it after the first day. Lots of aches. But I've gone one more time and things are starting to feel better and better.
I am so glad I had the Eeb. No way I can winch up those hills right now.

I guess at 48, might be time to chill a little bit. Just a bit.

Anyways, some pics from my first days back. And the cliff that caused the spinal compression.

I gotta say im super impressed by the spur. maybe an hour if that of actual trail riding so far, but wow. a lot easier to corner than i expected, tight tight turns are the exception, but i had problems with these on my patrol too. im a lot more confident in the berms. the few small jumps i did were great, the light frame feels like nothing.

the trail i normally commute on is closed until later this year, so i gotta take the dirt trail with a ton more elevation and climbing. not a big deal since im training for a stage race anyway.

still gotta get one of those wolf tooth strap things, a better bottle cage, and a garmin mount. probably gotta adjust the cockpit a little too, but thats expected.

still gotta figure out a solution for the bars touching my contour cap with my 1up rack

    loving this bike so far

how do you like the dissector/rekon combo? That's what I've been running and have been pretty happy with it

they feel pretty good and fast. i need to dial in what gear to be in when getting out of the saddle on steep stuff, i spun out a little bit when trying to push to the top.

got a little loose on one berm yesterday, but it was pretty loose/sandy so im not sure if it was my technique, tires, suspension, or what.

i dont see any reason to swap until i wear them out.

I used to snowboard a lot but fell off due to the effort to get up there and expense. Went up once in Feb and the knees were sore for a good week after.

Eebs are a great recovery tool. For me the recovery is mostly from winter laziness but they also opens up some trails that would normally require a shuttle.

Give yourself some time to heal up , specially from that back deal. One of my buddies has something along the same lines and he's been on couch lock due to it flaring up on and off over the last year.

I need to start stretching more. I do try to warm up a bit but some extra-circular yoga or something would probably help. My tendons are like old leather belts at this point. :bananadead:

A bit different than most but I got a custom frame bag by Rogue Panda since I do lots of bikepacking. Love this bag for regular day rides too. Can fit wind jacket, snacks, tools, tube, etc. If I carry a bottle in a feed bag then I don't need a hip pack or a hydration pack except on longer, dry rides.

Anyone have experience with full face helmets for kids? My daughter will be 4 this summer and is showing signs of an....aggressive bike riding style. Took her first big spill including a big fat lip and some face abrasions a few days back. I'm not super happy with the fit and coverage of her current Giro trail style helmet and thinking a full face could be nice. There seems to be way less good/serious reviews for kids equipment than the adult bike gear.

I'm digging that setup! how does the spur do bikepacking? that looks like a real light setup. is that just a day trip picture? i'm definitely interested in taking it on an overnight. i did a few with my patrol and have a handlebar bag took some getting used to. i went with a hammock and was pretty cold sleeping on the colorado trail lol.

this and a backpack was my setup. a frame bag would have been much easier
