Question for owners of the current-gen SJ Evo. Had it for a year now. Been loving it. Messed with some of the geo settings, since I ride a bit of a variety of terrain. Have been running the steep head position and high rear, because a lot of my riding does involve some tight climbing to get to the descending. It's actually been pretty nice, but maybe a tad to much bias into the front wheel. So tonight I dropped the rear position to low. I figure that might be a nice middle ground between stock (neutral/high) and the steep/high, I recently tried. I think dropping the low puts it right around what my buddy's YT Jeffsy geo is. But online it seems like a combo no one does though, so I was just curious if anyone else had any opinions, before I give it a go.

I actually just put mine in the steep head-angle position about a month ago, to try and make it more friendly for tight trails and potentially make it climb better. I'm still running he high position in the rear though to avoid BB hits and pedal strikes. It's pretty rocky here, my crank arms are banged up enough as is, I can't afford to go lower!
But, I love the steep setting on the head tube so far. Not miles different from before, but it still descends well, seems to climb pretty well and an unintended consequence was it increased my reach a little which made it fit a little better. The steep/high setting is likely where my Stumpy will live as it seems to fit my riding style/ability the best.

Thanks for the input. I certainly know what you mean. 1 of the close spots near me forced me to try the steep setting and I really liked it, even though I was hesitant to try. And them when I went to a more parky-descending type of place, it still did pretty well. Buy like I said, I just wanted to dial back that front wheel bias a tad, so figured id try steep/low bb just to see. Buy just as you mentioned, I was worried I might be smacking the pedals or even bottoming on log crossings etc. I did install a OneUp bash gaurd to try and help (even though that also brings the contact point lower too lol.)

Squamish and Whistler was so friggin good the last 3 days! Perfect bday present to myself.

Caught a ride in Squamish at Diamond Head on the way up and did Recycle and Pseudo-Tsuga on the way up to Whistler.

Then yesterday was perfect. Sunny and 72 degrees. Made some friends from New Brunswick on the lift second lap and ended up ripping B-line and Crank it up most of the day then gassed each other up for an A-line lap after lunch.

Today was cold and pouring rain when the lifts started, which made for soggy but no wait laps. Right around lunch, the sun came out and so did the crowds. Then the lift broke right about the time I had to leave anyways.

Props to @FreightTrain and @ginseng27 for convincing me that this was the year to go.

Haven’t posted on here for a while. What the hell, today at my local go to.
We had a big storm roll through at 9pm last night. Hail and rain, thunder and lightning for an hour.

The result of which turned these trails to Velcro perfect dirt. A Friday with it all to myself. :)

Whoa. Mama couldn’t be too far off… Scuuury.
Friggin hate setting up tires. Some pop right on, super easy. Some I want to burn into the ground. :bananadead:
    No in between.

Went up ‘cause someone said the lifts at PCMR were opening today…. Nope.
Good thing I bought my regular helmet.

The Arrival got a huge overhaul for the season. All bearings cleaned and repacked, drivetrain clean, hub/headset refresh, fork overhaul, Push shock refresh/retune/upgrade, bleed brakes, new pedals, tires, chainring, saddle, rotors, pads, grips, front axle, decals on fork and rims, wheels trued and retaped.
    Feels like a new whip.

Skyline in Napa is one of my all time favorite trails in NorCal. The structure back there is not a pizza oven. It's a cremation oven. Kinda creepy.

Just got back from a week trip to Brevard. Was a bit worried how my shoulder was going to feel - turned out to be a non issue. Anyway in the theme of SJ Evos:
